Recap of 2022 of Awards for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram
It’s that time of year. With only two weeks left, very few awards shows should be left, and it’s been a long, good year for the auto industry. Stellantis released its Dare Forward 2030 business strategy, and we saw the end of an era with the Dodge “Last Call” models. The automotive group also saw a lot of wins this year for many models in the lineup. At Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, we can’t lie and say there aren’t a handful of automakers we especially pay attention to. Check out all of these awards and accolades Stellantis models won in 2022, starting with a leading automaker in the group, Jeep®.
Jeep
Starting off 2022, Jeep started things off with the Jeep Wrangler 392 named 2022 SUV of the Year by Four Wheeler magazine. This name popped up again later in the year when the Wagoneer won 2023 SUV of the Year from Four Wheeler. The second award to start off the year was the iconic fifth-generation Jeep® Grand Cherokee named “Best SUV to Buy in 2022” by The Car Connection. The one of the two new models of the automaker Jeep launched as its premium side-gig. Named SUV of the Year During 2022 HMPA, the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer have taken home many awards, such as the recent Jeep Grand Cherokee Popular Science Best of What’s New Award, the Jeep Wagoneer ranking high in 2023 J.D. Power ALG Residual Awards, and the WardsAuto 2022 10 Best Interior and UX List naming the Grand Wagoneer.
Coming out with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the first three-row SUV by Jeep, this definitely changed things for the automaker as well, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L winning the Best Full-size SUV Award from Good Housekeeping, and the Forbes Wheels Best 7-Passenger SUVs for 2022 List, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L opened up whole new worlds, and awards, for the automaker. Of course, the original MVP Jeep Grand Cherokee dominates the NWAPA Mudfest and many other competitions. Recently, the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler 4xe won awards from GearJunkie, and taking home awards during the NEMPA Winter Competition for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and Ram 1500, Grand Wagoneer, Wrangler, and Wrangler 4xe.
Other shining moments for the automaker include Jeep voted as Most Patriotic automaker for the last 20 Years, and it shows with their Freedom Edition Jeep lineup. As a whole, Jeep won Best SUV Lineup during the Newsweek 2022 Best Auto Awards. Also, not one to shy away from a little competition, Jeep took three awards during the 2022 Rebelle Rally with the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
Ram
Another shining light for the Stellantis auto group, Ram Truck sprouted its wings when it split up with Dodge, and has been better for it. In the spring of 2022, the 2022 Ram 1500 was named 2022 Full-Size Pickup of the Year by Auto123.com. Although placing a large focus on its upcoming Ram 1500 Revolution campaign for the first all-electric Ram truck, the original lineup still sees plenty of love.
Ram won seven awards during the 2022 TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo thanks to the Ram 1500, Ram 1500 Limited, and Ram Heavy Duty Rebel. Cleaning up the annual Texas Motor Press Association Off-Road Invitational with Jeep, the 2023 Ram 1500 Limited was named the Texas Full-Size Truck of the Year by TxMPA. Always seemingly together, Jeep and Ram won awards from the Green Car Journal in 2022, and the U.S. News & World Report named Ram Truck as “Best Truck Brand”.
Dodge
The muscle car automaker finally put an end to the current generation of the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger with the Last Call models. It’s all about eMuscle, starting with the 2023 Dodge Hornet PHEV, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle from Dodge. For those of us that will hold onto the image of what a Dodge Challenger is, Dodge won the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Award for fourth consecutive year in 2022. It seems like a lot of consumer will be looking backwards before Dodge releases more electric vehicle concepts, like the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT BEV Concept. According to the InMoment eNVy Awards, the Dodge Challenger outperforms its competitors when it comes to consumers and how they feel about the quality of their vehicle.
Chrysler
Known as the family minivan brand, Chrysler continues to build on that with its recent 2023 Chrysler Road Tripper Package for Adventure. Touting its title, the Chrysler Pacifica landed on the Parents Best Family Car 2022 List, and many honors were had during the 2022 TAWA Auto Roundup for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan. Not just for human families, the Chrysler Pacifica is also built well for pets, named by AutoTrader multiple times as the perfect vehicle to celebrate National Dog Day.
Stellantis One-For-All
Stellantis has seen many awards as a whole this year, not just for the brands we adore. Vincentirc voted Stellantis for the Best CPO Value in America Awards and named seven models – the Chrysler Voyager and Jeep Gladiator (top honors), Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, and the Ram ProMaster and Ram ProMaster City vans. Four Stellantis brands landed on the 2022 Car and Driver Editor’s Choice Awards List (Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Ram, and Jeep), and four Stellantis models also won awards at the 2022 SEMA Auto Show (Dodge Challenger, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, and Ram Truck. In March 2022, Stellantis has the most loyal consumers according to IHS Markit.
