Ram Truck Wins Seven Awards at 2022 TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo

Competitions and contests are all finally starting to take place or wrap up as the year comes to a close. It felt like just yesterday 2022 started a whole new future of possibilities, and 2023 is so close. What will it bring? Before we close out the year, it’s a chance to find out the best family cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks available in the market today, and what better way than the annual Texas Truck Rodeo, hosted by the Texas Automotive Writers Association (TAWA)? Ram Truck won six awards at this event, putting the TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo on lockdown.
This isn’t a fluke, this is the seventh-year Ram has secured awards for its lineup. Sharing some of the spotlight with Jeep for the new Wagoneer, the automaker’s premium-entry, sibling of the Grand Wagoneer, there are many awards to win during this competition by TAWA. The Jeep Wagoneer was chosen for Best Interior and for Best New Feature with the Hurricane Twin Turbo engine, making Stellantis a winner of eight of 19 available awards. After two days of challenging on- and off-road driving, the winners were chosen by TAWA members.
Some time for credibility, TAWA has been around for many years, establishing itself as an accurate and credible name in automotive journalism. With an outreach to many consumers in various forms of marketing – news-related print, online, and broadcast media – consumers in the market for a new truck will want to keep an eye on TAWA events. With two happening each year, in the spring and in the autumn, hosting the Texas Auto Roundup and the Texas Truck Rodeo, respectively, winning this many awards in a single competition is a great highlight for Stellantis. This year, the rodeo was held at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas. Judging entries based on exterior/interior styling as well as off-road capability, there were many on-road and technical off-road driving surfaces to test performance of each.
“TAWA writers/jurors were able to drive both the Ram 1500 Limited and the high-performance TRX and both impressed on and off road…Ram Limited performed seamlessly and is both stunning and comfortable inside, while the TRX is pure fun and performance. The combination the Ram 1500 lineup offers impressed our jurors and makes it the Truck of Texas.” – Teia Collier, president of TAWA
Now for the winner’s circle of Ram pickup trucks. The 2022 Ram 1500 went home with the most prestigious title as Truck of Texas. Making a name for themselves in payload and towing capacity, the 2022 Ram 1500 won Full-Size Pickup Truck, followed by the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited for Luxury Pickup Truck, and the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty Rebel as the Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas. The Ram 1500 continues to be the largest winner in the lineup for its versatility and customization in recent years, earning it the title for Best Performance and Highest Personal Appeal.
Winning awards for value and performance, Ram Truck and Jeep are two of the strong names in the Stellantis automotive group. The choice is clear for a life of adventure and utility when going off-road. Find your next adventure with a new Jeep SUV or a new Ram pickup truck at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
