Every so often, Jeep or Ram Trucks release special edition trucks to pay respects to the men and women in green. That’s right, military-folk. As a tribute to U.S. military members in 2022, the Jeep® brand is offering a military-themed, special limited-edition Freedom package for the upcoming 2023 Gladiator and Wrangler models, called Freedom edition models. With military-themed exterior and interior design cues, consumers can help Jeep give back. For every Freedom edition unit sold, Jeep will make a $250 donation to military charities.

“With our 1941 origins rooted in the military, we at the Jeep brand are proud of our heritage, and the Gladiator and Wrangler Freedom editions are a tribute to all the servicemen and servicewomen…Through these special editions, this Fourth of July we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and support those who have served and continue to serve.” – Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America

This wouldn’t be the first Freedom Edition release for Jeep. In 2021, the automaker also launched special edition Freedom models in 2021. Last year, the Freedom edition was also based off of the Wrangler and Gladiator models. Each Freedom special-edition vehicle came with unique features to set them apart from the rest of the lineup. Freedom edition models feature a large “Oscar Mike” military star decal on the hood, rear tailgate/swing gate; matte black/Satin Carbon wheels and accents; and an American flag decal along the side of each model. Some small changes have been made to the 2023 models, with new LED headlamps and fog lamps, body-color fender flares, winch-capable steel front bumper, and steel rock rails.

The interior also receives small upgrades, such as leather-trimmed cloth seats and black accent stitching. Based off of the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, the Freedom Edition is also available on the Sport S trim of each, so a six-way manual driver seat and rear 60/40 folding sill still be standard features with heated front seats available. Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch touchscreen are standard, featuring Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, plus Bluetooth voice command and an eight-speaker sound system. HD Radio, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and an upgrade to an Alpine premium audio system are all available features to upgrade to.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but Jeep will be offering a $500 military bonus cash for 2023 Gladiator and Wrangler Freedom special editions to all active and recently retired service members who qualify. In addition to the great features offered on Freedom Edition models, the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler Freedom special editions also come standard with the Jeep Wave customer service program. Known for all the benefits and exclusive perks available to the subscribers to the premium Jeep owner loyalty program, consumers can enjoy: (1) three years of worry-free maintenance at Jeep dealerships, (2) 24/7 support via phone or online chat, (3) Vehicle protection, including 24/7 roadside assistance and first-day loaner coverage, and (4) VIP access to select, exclusive Jeep brand events.
