Four Stellantis Models Win Awards at the 2022 SEMA Auto Show

The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas isn’t just a place for automakers to hold exhibits and show off new models and concepts – although that’s a large part of it. This show is also a time to give off a few awards the automakers that hit the top of the list for trend-setting and making the best of business opportunities in the auto market. What does that mean exactly? Well, it means the winners of these awards really resonate with their consumers, deliver what their fans want, and have become legends in the industry. That sounds a lot like Dodge, Jeep®, and Ram brands, doesn’t it?
“With four prestigious SEMA awards, it’s clear that Stellantis is supportive and dedicated to the specialty equipment market…Voted on by the SEMA community, the awards validate that Stellantis is hitting the mark with the aftermarket.” – Mike Spagnola, president and CEO, SEMA
Four vehicles from three different brands received new accolades during the 2022 SEMA Show. In its last year as a gasoline combustion model, the Dodge Challenger won the title of SEMA Car of the Year. Wowing fans with an off-road SUV that could sport a truck bed, Jeep broke the mid-truck segment wide open with the Jeep Gladiator, and earned the SEMA Mid-size Truck of the Year. The Gladiator was built off of the Jeep Wrangler, so of course this SUV also won its own award – SEMA 4×4/SUV of Year. Ram is another strong player of the Stellantis automotive group, right up there with Jeep, and won the SEMA Full-size Truck of the Year award. These awards have been going on since 2010, honoring the most definitive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), highlighting trend-setting vehicles and aftermarket parts.
Dodge Challenger
Back in August 2022, Dodge announced its “Last Call” special edition models, and the seventh was actually supposed to show up at the 2022 SEMA Show, before the seventh and final “Last Call” Dodge model was postponed for reasons still unknown. Regardless, these models aren’t the only Dodge Challenger models out there. While units last, Stellantis announced that the Dodge Challenger is still widely available. The 807-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock sounded like more of a one-off for collectors, but there are still plenty of models to enjoy, whether starting small with the 303-horsepower V6 with class-exclusive all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability on the SXT and GT models, or looking for the original SRT Hellcat with a Widebody package.
Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator
Jeep has been known as an all-American brand ever since it first created the original Wrangler for the military. Eventually released as a civilian vehicle, Jeep offers several powertrains on this off-road warrior, including a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine with ESS, and a 6.4-liter V8. Dipping into electrified vehicles, there’s also the first ever Wrangler PHEV, the 4xe, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine, two electric motors, and a high-voltage battery pack. Built with a body-on-frame design, front and rear five-link suspension system, solid axles, and electronic lockers, the Wrangler is ready for adventure. Its midsize truck counterpart offers the power of the V6 and EcoDiesel engine and the same aforementioned equipment for tackling off-road terrain while storing cargo inside the cabin or the truck bed.
Ram Truck
Once it departed from Dodge, Ram Truck showed the world it can stand on its own two legs – or four wheels in this case. Meeting the demand of truck buyers for light-duty pickup trucks or the heavy duty trucks for tough jobs, the Ram Truck family has a large lineup consisting of the 1500, 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab, and ProMaster. Able to boast a Towing capacity of 37,090 lbs. with Ram 3500 and a payload of 7,680 lbs for the same, Ram Trucks also know luxury. Just look at the luxurious Ram Limited, made with real wood, real leather, and equipped with a 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen. Consumers can find more passenger space in a Ram Mega Cab, and the most capable full-size off-road pickup ever – Ram Power Wagon!
