Jeep’s Grand Slam: Two Vehicles, Two Awards

The 2021 model year has fewer than two weeks to go, and we’re just about done, people. Before midnight, we expect some last-minute announcements, maybe even an award or two. This accolade surprised us, but we managed to sneak it into our annual awards list for the Stellantis brands at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. This win is for two Jeep vehicles, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, thanks to a publication known as GearJunkie, the authority on outdoor and adventure news, gear, and culture.
What are the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s Capabilities?
Surprisingly, “automotive” isn’t a part of that industry. That said, GearJunkie has a section dedicated to vehicles and how they benefit campers, hikers, and enthusiasts who enjoy outdoor activities. Vehicles are a consumer product that many people like to use for more than just driving on the street, and with the off-road capability of vehicles like Jeep SUVs, consumers can’t go wrong.
With all the 4×4 systems offered on Jeep models, anyone can rock crawl or cross shallow rivers – with some mods for water fording if driving in deeper waters. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe was named the “Best 4×4” and the Jeep Grand Cherokee earned the “Best SUV” title for the annual Adventure Vehicle of the Year awards.
“This plug-in hybrid is very much a Trail Rated Jeep, and a near-silent and torquey electric drive is a ton of fun off road…We got behind the wheel of every trim level, drove both the V-6 and V-8, and experienced both the two- and three-row versions of the all-new Grand Cherokee.”
– Bryon Dorr, GearJunkie motors editor
