Jeep Grand Cherokee L Lands on Forbes Wheels Best 7-Passenger SUVs for 2022 List
The summer is starting soon, and that means it’s the perfect time to get a new car for any new additions to the family. That’s right, every automotive publication and organization out there is starting to talk about family cars and passenger cars. Most recently, Forbes Wheels put together its Best 7-Passenger SUVs to buy in 2022 list. Part of Forbes magazine, we don’t have to explain how legit this is. Just know that the all-new Jeep® Grand Cherokee L made the list, and there’s plenty of reasons why.

Released for the 2022 model year as a part of the iconic fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee – the most awarded SUV ever – the Grand Cherokee L broke new ground for the automaker. The first SUV in the lineup to be able to seat up to six people by adding a third row. With power for hauling cargo while still offering a decent fuel economy, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L still has the same legendary 4×4 capability of the original Grand Cherokee, along with its superior on-road handling, classic Jeep style with an ever-upgrading interior. Also new for 2022 is the all-new two-row version of the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid.
Able to handle all kinds of terrain, the Grand Cherokee L comes with the class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system, plus the Quadra-Trac II system and Quadra-Lift air suspension on every trim past the base to match that off-road capability the Jeep lineup is known for. If really looking for more, the Trail Rated Overland 4×4 model adds the Quadra-Drive II system. The interior cabin starts off nicely with a power eight-way driver seat with lumbar adjustment and a manual front-passenger, automatic dual-zone automatic temperature controls, and an all-new leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. It gets better past the base with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the high-end always show off what Jeep craftsmanship can do with premium hand-wrapped, quilted Palermo leather upholstery and open-pore Waxed Walnut wood and premium wrapped, suede-like fabric on the A-pillars and headliner. Technology is getting a boost with the available rear-seat entertainment displays with built-in Amazon Fire TV will keep plenty of passengers entertained.
Up front, Uconnect 5 is standard across the lineup, with a the segment-leading 10.25-inch front passenger screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to the 360-degree surround view camera, just one of the many safety features available. The 2022 Grand Cherokee L has more than 110 advanced safety and security features, with drowsy driver detection and night vision cameras standard, and select trims offering Full-speed Collision Warning with active brake and pedestrian/cyclist detection, Rear Cross Path detection, adaptive cruise control, active lane management, lane departure warning, advanced brake assist, Blind-spot Monitoring, and rear park assist sensors.
Like we said, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is just as amazing at the regular Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee L just offers a little more passenger space with a third row and an expanded wheelbase for more expansive, class-leading legroom in the second row.
