2023 Wrap-Up of All the Highlights for Stellantis
It’s been a wild year for Stellantis. 2023 was the year the automotive group made many investments to grow the company and also the year two major brands discontinued a legendary model lineup. Several brands also continued to win awards throughout the year, and of course, we have an eye on a few at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. Check out some of the highlights for the automakers Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram.
Stellantis
The fourth largest automaker company in the world, Stellantis has been busy with making investments to grow its future of BEV model lineups. Immediately bouncing back from 2022, the company sought to stabilize its supply of semiconductor chips with Hon Hai Technology. The two created a joint venture to form SiliconAuto to supply the entire industry with semiconductor chips to capitalize on the market.
Most recently, the joint venture between Stellantis and LG Energy Solution to form NextStar Energy Inc. and construct a new BEV facility just hit the 30-percent mark this month. Stellantis and Samsung SDI chose two locations in Indiana to construct BEV battery plants, and have joined the BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and Mercedes-Benz Group in their project to build a national BEV charging network to make the new BEV model lineup more practical. To keep its carbon imprint low, Stellantis has also partnered with Orano to ensure the proper recycling end-of-life electric vehicle batteries and scrap from gigafactories.
Stellantis hasn’t just been focused on the BEV market. The company has also invested in research into hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to create the Gigafactory SymphonHy. In fact, one hydrogen fuel cell Ram pickup truck is already on the way. The company has also looked into geothermal projects with Thermal Resources Holdings and Vulcan Energy Resources.
Running with its family minivan automaker as a hallmark of safety, the automotive group also developed new systems of safety with its HELP System to alert drivers of upcoming hazards and immobilized vehicles and AI safety technology being added to commercial fleet vehicles with Nauto. Focused on consumers, Stellantis is offering consumers the ability to customize their driving experience with new Dodge Connect, Alfa Connect, and Jeep Connect connected services.
Chrysler
The mother of minivans, Chrysler celebrated 40 Years of the Minivan this year. A major change came to the lineup with the discontinuation of the famous Chrysler 300 model lineup. It may sound strange, but the automaker is content with only having the Pacifica minivan for sale while it works on a secret Chrysler BEV crossover. Always focused on safety for its minivan consumers, the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan Earns a “Top Safety Pick” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Dodge
The muscle car automaker saw the death of legendary Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger models. Ending the generation of each as a gasoline-powered vehicle, Mopar was sure to release Limited-edition Mopar ‘23 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger Models. We saw the “Last Call” models for the HEMI-powered Dodge Challenger and Charger models, a “Last Call” for Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger special edition models, and the “Last Call” for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. It was all to make way for the new Dodge plug-in hybrid, the Dodge Hornet R/T, a first for the automaker, and landed on the 2023 Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems List for it.
Dodge also had some solid wins this year. Early on, Dodge won the 2023 Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards. Some major accomplishments are ranking high with Dodge and Ram during the 2023 J.D. Power APEAL Study and J.D. Power 2023 Initial Quality Study.
Jeep
Jeep will forever be known as the American automaker, voted the Most Patriotic Brand for 21 Years. Jeep has shown us some amazing things this year, like the future of autonomous driving technology in upcoming Jeep models. Keeping true to its roots, Jeep also released the 2023 Gladiator Rubicon FarOut Limited Edition Model this year for the ultimate adventure. Speaking of adventure, Jeep also added six more trails to the Badge of Honor Program in 2023. An automaker known for success, Jeep also won many awards this year – to name a few, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named Best SUV of 2023 by Cars.com, the Jeep Wagoneer earned the highest ranking for Large SUV During J.D. Power 2024 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards, and the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Wins 2024 Adventure Vehicle of the Year Award from Hispanic Motor Press. Its luxury brand, equally impressive, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models won the 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards, and the 2023 Grand Wagoneer was named Official Winter SUV of the Year by NEMPA.
Ram Truck
Ram Truck could be called the second favorite next to Jeep when it comes to Stellantis consumers. Always keeping up with the times, Ram has already revealed two endeavors into the growing BEV market. In 2023, Ram introduced the 2025 Ram 1500 REV and the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a new take on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Saying goodbye to gasoline, Ram announced the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 with a final edition and released a 2023 1500 Rebel Havoc Edition this year. Not all bad news, though, because the automaker also had plenty to brag about. Starting off the new year right, the Ram 1500 landed on the Car and Driver 10Best List for the Fifth Consecutive Year in 2023, then landed on the Auto123.com Best Of List with the 2023 Ram 1500 and Jeep Wrangler, followed by the Ram and Jeep winning nine Awards at the 2023 TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo.
