Stellantis sure is busy with its Dare Forward 2030 business strategy. Aside from securing battery-electric vehicle (BEV) resources with BEV battery plants between Samsung SDI and Stellantis, the automotive group is also working on technology like car-connected services and autonomy with artificial intelligence (A.I.). Earlier this year (2023), Stellantis announced a new safety measure that builds on the Uconnect Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) to make drivers aware of immobilized vehicles and other road hazards, called the Hazard Enhanced Location Protocol, or “HELP”. Now pairing up with Nauto, Stellantis is making use of the Nauto’s AI-based vehicle safety technology to make its commercial fleets and the automotive sector a safer place.

“Driver safety within our commercial fleet customer base is our top priority and this is an important and exciting new endeavor as we partner with Nauto by offering next-gen, AI-based advanced driving assistance technology in our commercial vehicles…Through our Stellantis Ventures arm, investment into startup companies like Nauto help support Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 efforts in leading the charge to sustainable and safe mobility, as well as a better in-vehicle experience overall.” – Jeff Kommor, U.S. Head of Sales – Stellantis

Aside from Ram Truck commercial trucks and cargo vans, Stellantis doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of commercial fleets in the lineup. However, autonomous car technology is on the way, and making these self-driving cars safer with AI is the way to go. This partnership between Nauto and Stellantis builds on the earlier investment announced in June 2023. Aiming to provide commercial fleet owners with a best-in-class vehicle safety solution, consumers can receive real-time alerts and tips for safer driving behaviors to help prevent collisions and losses due to unsafe driving.

Now available to Stellantis commercial fleet consumers, owners can learn more about the new Nauto’s vehicle safety solution at the Stellantis Fleet website and purchase the Nauto solution for their vehicles, such as Ram commercial trucks and vans. What is the Nauto solution we’re talking about? Like we said, its Nauto’s advanced AI technology that’s used to keep track of and analyze safety risks in real-time. Able to provide drivers with preventative warnings to give them ample time to react, these warnings are a little like Google Maps, informing drivers of collisions and speed traps based on data from other consumers. For Nauto, the data is based on over 3 billion AI-processed miles.

Some key benefits of the Nauto solution is how easy it will be to install for drivers. Most can even do it themselves in as little as 30 minutes, although they can also choose pre-approved professional installers. The Nauto solution will of course help reduce driver risk and hopefully, the rate of accidents – an estimate of up to 80-percent is expected within the first two weeks of deployment. In the case of an incident, Nauto offers rapid collision reporting with its accelerated claims management team, abler to get cases moving in 15 minutes. Nauto consumers are also seeing some financial benefits within the first few months (4-5) of service.
