Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer Win Awards during 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards
Ever since Jeep gave birth to its new luxury subsidiary brand, Wagoneer, the automaker has been turning heads with the Grand Wagoneer and the Wagoneer. The starting MSRP may be a little too rich for some blood, starting at $88,640 (plus destination fee) and $58,995 (plus destination fee), respectively, but that’s okay. The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are virtually identical, save for a few extra features that make that extra $30k worth it. Even still, consumers are flocking to the Wagoneer, and many more will after the Wagoneer won two awards during the 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards – “Best Family-Friendly Technology” and “Best Passenger Ecosystem”. On the other hand, the Grand Wagoneer took home “Newsweek’s Best Full-Size SUV”.

Taking American SUVs to a new level in luxury and premium features, the Wagoneer series is doing a lot more than showing the market what a high class SUV looks like. The Wagoneer also boasts some power, equipped with a standard 510-horsepower Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 engine, able to provide a towing capacity of up to 9,800 pounds. Still featuring the same 4×4 off-road capability of its parent automaker, the Grand Wagoneer also comes standard with a Select-terrain system, Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, and Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with active low range (available for select trims). Offering a crawl ratio of 48:1, 10-inches of ground clearance, and up to 24 inches of water fording, the Grand Wagoneer does not disappoint Jeep fans. The series has also expanded to feature an L long wheelbase model like the Grand Cherokee, with three rows and a 7-inch longer wheelbase to make the cabin even roomier for the Grand Wagoneer L and Wagoneer L models.
The advanced, easy-to-use, driver-assist technology of the Wagoneer helped it win the title of Best Family-Friendly Technology, offering next-generation tech, a rear-seat monitoring camera, windshield Head-up Display, frameless digital cluster, premium McIntosh audio system, 10.25 front passenger interactive display, Amazon Fire TV Built-In, and up to 75 inches of total digital screen area. That’s a lot of hot tech for an SUV, and it sure keeps passengers happy on long road trips. Speaking of, the Grand Wagoneer boasts a best-in-class towing capability of up to 10,000 lbs for lugging more equipment for a little family getaway. All Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs also come equipped with the award-winning Uconnect 5 infotainment system to keep the tunes jamming and complete customizations with new content and connected services. As for “Best Passenger Ecosystem”, some of that is due to the Wagoneer L series, now 12 inches longer overall for more interior room. That also means more storage space, a total of 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row alone.
