Any consumer who is a Jeep owner knows the Jeeper way of life. It’s all about seeking out and taking on new adventures. Whether that’s road trips or going off road, everyone knows that Jeep SUVs are the most capable vehicles out there. That’s why Jeep even has its own list of challenge trails for Jeepers to venture out and test the capability of their vehicle. The list eventually spawned a program called the “Badge of Honor” program, and every so often more trails are added. In 2023, the Badge of Honor Program now consists of 68 trails.

Badge of Honor Program

The Jeep Badge of Honor program is the only official off-road program owned, operated, and developed by the Jeep brand. Completely free to join, Jeep owners can download the mobile app, make a profile, and start finding new trails for their next adventure. All across the U.S., there are hundreds of thousands of legal off-road trails, but only 68 of them worthy to be considered Jeep Badge of Honor trails. Back in 2018, that number was only 49, but like we said, more are added over time.

Once in the app, it’s easy to find the closest designated trail to the users location. Pick a trail, drive along it, check-in, and once completed, a Jeeper not only gets bragging rights, but they can also get a real badge decal to display on their Jeep. It’s not called “Badge of Honor” for nothing. Once they complete a trail, they can check out the “View and Request Badges” page and pick the badge they want. All it takes is filling out a form with their information, submit the form, and then wait 8-12 weeks. Just look at how nice these badges are below.

More Trails Over Time

In 2020, the Jeep Badge of Honor Program expanded to a total of 56 trails. With a whole new variety of challenging trails ranging in difficulty, these new additions included Northwest OHV Park in Texas, Tread Lightly! Four Wheel Drive Way in Florida, and Bearwallow in West Virginia. Jeep enthusiasts throughout the nation have a chance to select these new trails and get a badge while they work up to legendary trails like Rubicon Trail in California; Hell’s Revenge in Moab, Utah; and Imogene Pass in Colorado. There was another small edition in 2021 when the program had a total of 58 Badge of Honor trails, adding the Black Gap 4×4 trail in Big Bend National Park, Texas; and the Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport, Texas.

Now We’re Up to 68 Trails

Since 2021, more trails were added to the Badge of Honor Program, but many of them snuck in under the radar. In 2023, six more trails were added to the program, making up the new total of 68 Jeep-certified trails of off-road adventure. They consist of the Quartz Canyon: Hot Springs Off-road Park, Arkansas; Barney Rubble Blue Trail #49: Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area, Pennsylvania; Fern Ridge Trail #121: Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area, Pennsylvania; C-2 Trail #141: Kansas Rocks Recreation Park, Kansas; Rattlesnake Alley Trail #149: Kansas Rocks Recreation Park, Kansas; and Cougar Crossing: Southern Missouri Off-road Ranch, Missouri.

Stellantis and Jeep Connected Services

Not enough? Recently, Jeep has made a new feature available to the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator. Called Jeep Adventure Guides, consumers can download this into the Uconnect 5 Nav system, able to be displayed on the new 12.3-inch high-resolution screen. Offering detailed guides and maps for more than 200 off-road destinations across the nation, it’s even more Jeep adventure. And yes, these 200 include the 68 Jeep Badge of Honor trails.

Ready to challenge yourself and trek through a Jeep Badge of Honor trail? Remember, the only way consumers can modify a Jeep with aftermarket accessories and slap on some decals is by buying a Jeep, not leasing. So be sure to find your new Jeep SUV at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
