After the “Last Call” models by Dodge, many consumers may have thought that was it, the gasoline-powered days of the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger were over. Well, they’re definitely coming to an end, but they’re not all gone just yet. Just last week, Dodge announced another “Last Call” for all Dodge Challenger HEMI and Dodge Charger HEMI models. It seems that anything Dodge//SRT isn’t done just yet. For the first time ever, Mopar is producing two matching performance vehicles as a part of its annual factory-vehicle customization program. Every year, Mopar picks a Dodge, Ram, or Jeep vehicle to customize for the year. With the Dodge high-performance models ending an era, Mopar wants to give the automaker its very own send-off with exclusive Mopar ’23 Dodge Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody models.

“Our iconic two-door and four-door muscle cars from Dodge are perfect vehicles to continue our annual tradition of offering exclusive, performance-oriented, low-volume packages of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories from the Mopar Custom Shop…With striking matte black and Mopar Blue accents, both Mopar ‘23 models will turn heads and be sought after by performance enthusiasts and collectors alike.” – Mike Koval, head of Mopar North America

That’s right, these two special-edition models are based off of the Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody vehicles. That means the powertrain of the Scar Pack Widebody will be under the hood – the 392 HEMI® V8 naturally aspirated engine, generating a best-in-class 485 horsepower. Paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual on the Mopar ‘23 Challenger (standard), if consumers prefer an automatic setup, the Mopar ‘23 Challenger and Mopar ‘23 Charger can both come with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. Also adding to the performance are Brembo six-piston front brake calipers (four-piston rear) painted in the exclusive Mopar Blue paint. For maximum grip and control, both models feature Widebody competition suspension with Bilstein three-mode adaptive damping tuned by SRT engineers.

Of course, the Mopar ‘23 Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody vehicles will feature unique, performance-oriented looks inside and out. The exterior of each model comes donned in the Pitch Black Clear Coat with unique matte-black graphics. Accented with Mopar Blue tracer stripes along the hood, roof, and decklid, Mopar was sure to put some custom touches along the exterior body. This includes a Mopar Blue grille badge, Mopar Blue brake calipers behind forged carbon-black wheels, and Mopar valve stem caps. In the rear, an exclusive all-new carbon-fiber decklid spoiler is featured for the first time, and can only be found on these Mopar ‘23 models. Riding on 20-by-11-inch forged-aluminum wheels with exclusive Carbon Black finish, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero 305/35ZR20 summer performance tires, the signature Widebody fender flares (adding 3.5 inches of width), the exterior is one sick package.

Inside, the Carbon Suede Interior Package is activated, adding real carbon fiber interior accents and suede headliner to the cabin. Equipped with a serialized Mopar instrument-panel badge to show off the exclusivity of this model, the Mopar ‘23 Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody models also come with the Plus Package. This adds Scat Pack logos on the seatbacks; black Nappa/Alcantara material combination seats making up the upholstery; a heated, flat-bottom and leather-wrapped steering wheel with a power tilt/telescoping steering column; heated and ventilated front seats, a premium stitched dashboard panel, bright pedals, and Mopar locking lug nuts. Finishing the look, the Mopar Interior Appearance Group adds bright door sills, a premium floor, and trunk mats with Mopar logos. For entertainment, each model also comes with the Alpine Audio Group, adding an upgrades six-speaker system and subwoofer.

Now these are some seriously sick models by Mopar to end an era of gasoline-powered Dodge models. Limiting the build to 220 units each, 200 units for the U.S. and 20 units for Canada, be sure to follow along with us on Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram social media to find out when you can order your Mopar ‘23 Challenger or Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody. Once they’re gone, that’s it. No more special-edition Dodge Challenger or Dodge Charger models of the current generation. We’re sad to see it go, but Dodge eMuscle is shaping up pretty well, starting with the 2023 Dodge Hornet.
