Automakers these days are moving in all sorts of directions – alternative fuel, battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, software-defined vehicles (SDVs), luxury cars, and commercial fleets. Sometimes, this can make a brand stretch too thin. That’s why, a lot of automakers have started to split up their focus and create new subsidiaries to handle the various segments. Jeep did this with Wagoneer when moving onto luxury vehicles, Dodge did this with eMuscle when introducing its electric vehicles, and Ram just did this to place more focus on its commercial division. Everyone knows Ram Truck as a pickup truck brand, but its commercial side has been fleeting for years now. That’s why, Ram announced the new Ram Professional commercial vehicle division to give its commercial lineup a step up.

“With Ram Professional, our commercial vehicle customers will benefit from a simplified and all-encompassing business solution with products and services that feature best-in-class performance, capability, advanced technology and value to best fit their business needs…We know our customers depend on us day-in and day-out, and Ram Professional is committed to delivering the best commercial vehicle lineup and serving our customers with the most important tools of their trade.” - Ken Kayser, vice president, Ram Professional

Set to make its official debut at the upcoming 2024 National Truck and Equipment (NTEA) Work Truck Week show in Indianapolis, on March 6, 2024, Ram Professional is a full-service company to provide consumers with mobility solutions that can prove to be very valuable amongst commercial business. Separate from the Ram Truck brand, but under the same umbrella, whilst Ram continues to expand its pickup truck lineup with alternative fuel sources, the next generation of commercial-consumer vehicle ecosystems still needs to thrive. Not every consumer is willing to go green, just yet, and to survive in the market, an automaker will need to serve both sides of the coin.

Ram Professional already has a growing lineup to provide a vehicle solution for every commercial consumer, including the new Ram ProMaster EV, Ram 1500 REV, Ram 1500 Ramcharger, Ram Heavy Duty trucks, and Ram Chassis Cab models. With the intention of becoming the most trusted partner for commercial-vehicle consumers and companies, Ram Professional will be launching a 360-degree approach to provide a suite of professional services to make sure its consumers are completely covered with whatever they need. Ready to launch in North America this year (2024), expect to see plenty of all-new technological offerings and services spring up.

Currently, Ram Professional makes use of what it already has to offer, such as upfits, the modules consumers can make use of to customize the interior of their trucks and vans to better serve their purposes. With the addition of the new ProMaster EV and Ramcharger, consumers and businesses looking to go green have more options available to them that will benefit the ecosystem and make them more sustainable. Ram Professional connected services will soon be popping up so commercial customers can better manage vehicle fleets and support their technical needs with real-time data. The Ram BusinessLink hasn’t gotten a lot of coverage lately, but it’s a huge tool commercial fleet consumers can make use of, thanks to their commercial consumer-focused maintenance packages to keep fleets maintained. Also not getting a lot of coverage is the Stellantis Free2move ecosystem, a subsidiary focused on offering all sorts of mobility solutions, especially in terms of electric vehicles, software, and energy management for consumers.
