Engine Types
For 2023, the Ram 2500 lineup extended by one to seven trims – Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn, and Limited. The standard engine across the lineup is the 6.4-liter V8 HD HEMI® engine, optimized with a multi-displacement system to conserve fuel when at cruising speeds. This engine is able to generate 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, and provide a maximum towing capacity of 17,730 pounds, plus a payload of 4000 pounds. Available on all trims except the Power Wagon trim is a 6.7-liter I6 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, able to generate 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. This stronger engine can also provide a maximum towing capacity of 19,980 pounds, plus a payload of 3140 pounds.
Configuration
Many Ram pickup trucks are known for the configuration options they give consumers when picking a pickup truck. Various cab sizes and truck bed (box) sizes vary for each. The Tradesman and Big Horn can come with a Regular Cab with an 8-foot box, or a Crew Cab with an 8-foot box or 6-foot-4-inch box. The Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited can come with a Crew Cab with an 8-foot box or 6-foot-4-inch box, or a Mega Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch box. The Rebel and Power Wagon are locked into a Crew Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch box. 4×4 is available for all trims, standard on the Rebel and Power Wagon, adding a part-time Borg-Warner transfer case for all-wheel drive, going off-road, delivering a reduction ratio of 2.64:1 for increased low-speed torque capability.

Exterior Features
Many trims in the 2023 Ram 2500 lineup come with standard features past the Tradesman base trim. These include exterior heated mirrors with turn signals, LED bed lighting, and LED interior lighting as available features or standard on others. All trims come equipped with automatic headlamps and LED taillamps, illuminated entry, tinted glass windows, and tinted windshield.
Past the Big Horn, trims come with exterior mirrors with memory, Bi-Function LED Projector Headlamps, acoustic glass, and a rear power sliding window. Many trims offer add-on features, such as a locking tailgate, a tri-fold tonneau cover, tow hooks, side steps, and the RamBox Cargo Management System. The 2023 Ram 2500 rides on either 17-, 18-, or 20-inch wheels.
Interior Features
Across the lineup, 40/20/40 split-folding bench or a 60/40 rear folding seat come standard. The Tradesman has heavy-duty vinyl upholstery, cloth on the Big Horn, and past that, leather upholstery is available. The Limited Longhorn and Limited trims also come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle. Past the Tradesman, heated front seats are available on all trims past the Tradesman, plus second seats past the Big Horn trim, and ventilated front seats are available on all trims. Automatic dual-zone temperature control is standard starting with the Laramie trim, available on the Tradesman and Big Horn.

The 2023 Ram 2500 Tradesman comes with Uconnect 3 on a 5-inch touchscreen display, but can come with Uconnect 5, standard on trims past the Big Horn. The setup starts on an 8.4-inch touchscreen – with navigation (available on all trims), and available on a 12-inch touchscreen across the lineup. Voice command with Bluetooth is a lineup standard, but Google Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Amazon Alexa built-in. HD Radio and steering wheel mounted audio controls are standard on trims past the Big Horn, available on most.
A four-speaker sound system is the standard on the Tradesman, with a six-speaker system the standard on the Big Horn (available on the Tradesman). Past that, a 9 Alpine speaker with a subwoofer is the standard. A 17-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system is available on all trims past the Laramie trim.
Safety Features and Warranty
The 2023 Ram 2500 comes with many basic safety features standard, including an advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental front-mounted and side-curtain airbags, traction and stability control systems, a ParkView backup camera. Most trims can offer ParkSense park assist with forward and reverse stop, adaptive cruise control with stop, and blind-spot and cross-path detection, full-speed forward-collision warning plus, Lane Keep Assist, and a surround-view camera available as an option on all trims.
All-new Ram trucks are covered by a basic 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile diesel powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile gas powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for 5 years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through warranty for 5 years and unlimited miles. Coverage also includes free towing to the nearest Ram Truck dealer, if necessary, and coverage is transferable.
