The Chrysler automotive brand is known most notably for its Pacifica minivan, voted as the Best Family Minivan multiple times over. With rumors about an electric minivan on the way, Chrysler is the last automaker of the original Fiat Chrysler group to announce concrete plans. Even Dodge unveiled its first all-electric vehicle, the Charger Daytona SRT BEV Concept, and their plug-in hybrid, the 2023 Dodge Hornet PHEV. We’re not sure how many of the 75 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) Stellantis has planned are Chrysler models, but the automaker has jumped into another industry for the time being with its new Chrysler Athleisure Merchandise Collection.

“The Chrysler brand has always been about ingenious style and functionality with a focus on providing solutions to make things easier for our customers’ busy lifestyles…This special collaboration truly embodies what the brand represents with the ultimate goal of creating high quality and modern products that enable consumers to be comfortable while on the go, with practical sophistication.” – Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand chief executive officer – Stellantis

Athleisure, or athletic leisure apparel, isn’t quite what one would expect from an automotive brand, but then again, Chrysler also joined the latest craze, opening a Chrysler storefront on Amazon, as the two companies continue to integrate Amazon services with the STLA SmartCockpit. This new collection is being launched by Chrysler as a result from a collaboration between Stellantis licensing and merchandising team and Winnie Cheung, chief designer – advance studio, Stellantis. Like many of the items that can be found on the Amazon storefront, the athleisure collection isn’t just for working out or going to the gym. An eight-piece collection, this includes hoodies, long sleeve T-shirts, leggings, zip-up jacket, and a Chrysler-branded canteen.

Available at collection.chrysler.com/chrysler/collections/athleisure.html, consumers can purchase items from this new athleisure wear collection. More apparel can be found on the Chrysler Amazon storefront, amongst other things. Drinkware has been added for people who like a nice mug, thermos on the go, or even glass for something on the rocks. A lot of what can be found in the “Gear” category isn’t exactly add-ons to any Chrysler models, but homeware accessories like lamps, bar stools, and neon signs. It’s definitely different for the minivan automaker, but as we said, the automaker has been pretty quiet on that front.

The closest we have to look forward to is the Chrysler Airflow concept that debuted during the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show back in January. That was something to see. With many automakers working towards creating a mobile living space for consumers to interweave their digital lives with their automobiles, much like they do with their smartphones, eventually running on software. Already equipped with select Amazon services, such as Amazon Devices, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Amazon Last Mile, AI-enhanced application for entertainment, Alexa-enabled voice assistance, navigation, vehicle maintenance, ecommerce marketplaces, and payment services are on the way with the STLA SmartCockpit. With STLA Drive, Level 2, Level 2+ and Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities to consumers, and it’s all tied together with the STLA Brain, also powered by Amazon. This is just a preview of the upcoming Amazon software that the Chrysler Airflow concept previewed.
