Since the release of the next generation of the Ram 1500 light duty pickup truck, the automaker has been sure to keep the good news coming with special editions and luxury options. In the last year, Ram Trucks has released the new 2021 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition, the new 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition, the 2021 Ram Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition, and most recently, the Ram 1500 Rebel TRX. Bouncing back from the hardships of 2020, and reminding consumers once again that the Ram 1500 is no longer just a work truck (that’s what the Ram 1500 Classic is for), Ram Trucks is releasing a G/T package for the 2021 Ram 1500.

For those truck fans who have been asking for a sportier pickup truck that can also boast performances, those wishes have been answered. Since the initial reception of the fifth-generation pickup truck, consumers were impressed, but a lot of the lifestyle choices and changes that could be made to the truck came with aftermarket accessories from Mopar. Meeting consumers halfway, the new G/T package will add an assortment of features to the 2022 Ram 1500 Sport, Rebel, and Laramie trims.

In terms of convenience, the G/T package adds power-adjustable pedals with memory, power 8-Way adjustable front seats with power 4-Way driver lumbar adjustable seats, exterior mirrors with memory settings, driver seat with memory settings, and radio/driver seat/mirrors/pedal memory. For added comfort, we’re looking at front ventilated seats (not available on the Rebel trim), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, leather/vinyl bucket seats. Interesting tidbits are upscale features such as underseat lighting, LED footwell lighting, rear door accent lighting, and Rebel Mopar® All-Weather Floor Mats.

Then there are the usual performance additions from Mopar, such as a Mopar® Cold Air Intake System, and bright Mopar® Pedal Kit, a passive cold end exhaust system. To bring it all home, a sport performance hood adds to the style and G/T Decal(s) don the body while a G/T interior theme shapes the cabin. Steering wheel-mounted shift control has been added – in place of a rotary-dial shift knob currently found on the Ram 1500 Sport, Rebel, and Laramie, the automaker decided to stick to the console-mounted shifter for the G/T package. One last addition for performance is a 3.92 rear axle ratio for power and fuel economy.

For those interested in going further and do want to take a look at the Mopar catalog, there are over 300 parts Mopar designed specifically for the new Ram 1500, able to match all kinds of lifestyles. When first introduced, Mopar added a number of interesting accessories, including a Mopar 2” Lift kit, beadlock capable wheels, BFG KO2 35”tires for additional grip, Mopar’s Ram air flow cold air intake system under the hood, Katback exhaust system with black chrome tips, Katzkin leather for the upholstery, stainless steel door sill guards, bucket style floor mats, new truck bed rails, and all new Off-road running boards covered with spray-on bedliner material for extra grip. As one can see, the fifth-generation of the Ram 1500 light duty pickup truck is full of customization possibilities.
