2021 Ram 1500 Classic
When the new generation of the Ram 1500 light duty pickup truck first came out, truck owners were ecstatic. They were also worried about what would happen to the model theyāve come to know and love. When it comes to Ram Trucks, that isnāt such a huge problem. Although a new generation of the truck has been manufactured, Ram Trucks is also continuing to produce the Ram 1500 Classic. Engine Types
Available in three trims ā Tradesman, Express, Warlock ā the standard engine powering the 2021 Ram 1500 Classic is a 3.6-liter V6 engine, optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) for performance and fuel efficiency. Able to generate 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, this pickup truck still has the ability to haul materials for small projects or just having more cargo space past the cab. If looking to get a little more heavy lifting done, a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine is available on all trims, capable of generating 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
Engineering
All engines come tied to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and although the standard engine is the same, towing capacity varies between models. The 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman with a regular cab, 4×2 drivetrain, and 6ā4ā box can tow up to 4,960 pounds. This is the same towing capacity for the 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Express with a 4×2 drivetrain, and a 6ā4ā box. For a 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock with a 4×2 drivetrain and 6ā4ā box, the towing capacity is 4,550 pounds. If equipped with the V6 engine, consumers can expect a fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The EPA with the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine equipped is 15/22 mpg city/highway.

Exterior Features
The 2021 Ram 1500 Classic places a larger focus on work trucks, and because of this, many of the trailer and towing-oriented features can be found on the Warlock. Keeping options available, across the lineup, consumers can opt-in for heated exterior mirrors, LED bed lighting, side steps of some kind, a rear-sliding window (power on Warlock), the RamBox Cargo Management System, a tri-fold tonneau cover, and spray-on bed liner. On the Warlock, consumers will also find trailer-tow mirrors, exterior courtesy lamps, mirrors with turn signals, bi-function halogen projector lamps, and front LED fog lamps.Ā The standard wheel size is 17 inches for the 2021 Ram Classic Tradesman and Express, with the Warlock riding on 20-inch wheels (available for Tradesman and Express).
Interior Features
Keeping it strictly a work truck, cloth and vinyl make up the upholstery with a 40/20/40 split-folding rear bench seat, and various features available for add-on, such as front (and rear on Warlock) rubber floor mats. The Warlock of course gets some exclusive upgrades, including automatic dual-zone temperature control, heated front seats, and the option of changing the rear bench seat into a 60/40 split-fold. If getting fancy, the front seats can be turned into bucket seats with 10-way power adjustable driver seats for the Express and Warlock trims, and the Warlock can come with a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel and a power sunroof.
Technology
Entertainment
Tech was always a mixed bag with Ram Trucks, and the Classic model keeps the classic features, such as Uconnect 3 on a 5-inch display. If looking towards the future of entertainment, Uconnect 4C on an 8.4-inch display is available on all trims, with navigation on the Warlock. Such upgrades include Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, SiriusXM Radio, as well as a new telematics system. Bluetooth with voice command is only available on the Warlock trim ā also exclusive to the Warlock is a nine Alpine speaker system with a subwoofer.
Safety Features and Warranty
Keeping it a classic, the 2021 Ram 1500 Classic model comes with the basic safety features found in pickup trucks, including advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental front-mounted and side-curtain airbags, and traction and stability control systems. A trailer brake controller is a lineup standard. A ParkSense rear park assist system is available on the Warlock trim.
