Mopar Releases Teasers for 2023 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts
Every year, all the way in Moab, Utah, off-road 4×4 automaker Jeep hosts a special event known as the Annual Easter Jeep Safari. Going on for 57 years in 2023, Jeepers all over the nation are getting ready to road trip to Utah and join in all the Jeep-related activities, join trail-trekking parties, see all the new merchandise and off-road gear, and as usual, what Mopar has in store for Jeep owners. With an ever-growing new catalog, the Jeep® Performance Parts (JPP) package, JPP by Mopar and the unmistakable Jeep® Mopar Concept Vehicles will show up once more. Hosted by Moab’s Red Rock 4-Wheelers club, this year’s Jeep Safari should be a blast, scheduled for April 1-9, 2023.
A tradition of more than five decades, it’s easy to see why Jeepers love to go to Easter Jeep Safari year-after-year. Every time, Mopar has a number of interesting, eye-catching, mission-capable concept vehicles based off of the Jeep brand lineup. So far, we don’t have much to go on for this year. Just those two very vague pictures. It’s not like we had much to go on when it comes to teaser pictures – there were a lot of guesses about the 2021 teaser (seen below). The teaser ended up definitely not the Jeep Wrangler Magneto we got at the event, but a good guess, nonetheless. 2021 Easter Jeep Safari and 2022 actually saw a lot of interesting concepts.
Building upon the Jeep lifestyle, able to tackle a variety of activities, in 2021, Mopar introduced a laid-back beach-themed Jeepster Beach Concept for the Wrangler, a true off-road champion known as the Jeep Gladiator Red Bare with an impressive 91:1 crawl ratio, the Jeep Orange Peeelz based off of the Jeep Wrangler and equipped with a factory-backed Mopar windshield made with Corning Gorilla Glass, and the Jeep Top Dog, a concept built off of the Gladiator, made for hungry hikers who could use a battery-powered refrigerator and electric hot dog roller grill to keep fueled-up for the trails ahead. We also saw the Jeep Gladiator Farout concept, a literal log cabin on wheels – probably the coolest Jeep concept we’ve ever seen. There was also the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, powered by a 6.4-liter (392-cubic-inch) V8 engine, capable of generating 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
The 2022 Jeep Safari saw a lot of other great concepts, such as the return of the Mangeto, the Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 pays homage to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe with four lithium-ion battery packs, and engineering introduced a new electric powertrain calibration that can maintain the peak amperage for up to 10 seconds. Basically, an electric boost. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Concept is exactly what it sounded like – the first-ever electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe with Trailhawk capabilities. We wonder what will show up this year.
Mopar promises some interesting concepts, modified by Jeep brand and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar design teams. Made to be the most aggressive yet, Mopar is creating several one-of-a-kind, rock-crawling, terrain-traversing vehicles that will show what the JPP catalog is capable of. For now, we only have the two teasers, with one hinting at a 4xe electrified Jeep SUV. We always enjoy seeing the monsters Mopar creates with parts consumers can find in their catalog, so we’ll be sure to have some coverage on the 2023 Jeep Safari, again, scheduled for April 1-9, 2023.
