2021 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts
With the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari just right around the corner, the Jeep® Brand and Jeep Performance Parts decided to debut an assortment of concept vehicles for 2021. As usual, many of these vehicles are just concepts, and probably won’t make it past the Safari event. Every year, it’s more so a chance for Jeep and Mopar to show off what consumers can do when purchasing aftermarket accessories and parts from either company. Furthermore, during the Easter Jeep Safari, aside from socializing, trail riding, and other events, there is always a market full of retailers who specialize in the manufacture of aftermarket parts for Jeep vehicles. Some of the concepts have popped up more than once in the last twelve months, however, so we’re going to pay special attention to these.
This year, there are seven distinctive Jeep brand and JPP concept vehicles that will be displayed during the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari. One of these vehicles was the previously discussed Jeep Wrangler Magneto, teased last week. A battery-electric vehicle (BEV), capable of generating 273 lb.-ft. of torque at 0 RPMs, it’s definitely a good way to break into electric off-road vehicles. The e-motor is made up of four battery packs with a combined power of 70 kW/h, capable of running an 800-volt system. For a strong low center of gravity, the lithium-ion batteries are placed around the Wrangler to balance weight on the four wheels. Equipped with a JPP 2-inch lift kit, 17-inch Lights Out black metallic wheels with 35-inch mud-terrain tires, custom roll cage, Mopar Rock Rails, steel bumpers with a Warn winch and a steel belly pan, this is the type of vehicle we can expect from Jeep and Mopar.
With that in mind, Jeep releases the same kind of vehicle mods every year to highlight every type of consumer. This includes consumers who like to lounge in the sun and kick back with the beach-themed Jeepster Beach Concept for the Wrangler, and Jeepers who like to test the limits of their vehicle with the Jeep Gladiator Red Bare and its impressive 91:1 crawl ratio. There is also a concept for adventure, the Jeep Orange Peeelz based off of the Jeep Wrangler and equipped with a factory-backed Mopar windshield made with Corning Gorilla Glass for additional protection against windshield chips and cracks. The Jeep Top Dog, a concept built off of the Gladiator, comes complete with a battery-powered refrigerator and electric hot dog roller grill for snacks while out in the middle of a challenging trail. Okay, that last one is surprising, but many of these concepts come with the same parts for the same reasons we’ve all heard before.
Instead, let’s look at two more concepts in addition to the Magneto. In August 2020, Jeep announced that new trims and options would be coming to the Jeep Gladiator model, given its new entry into the lineup and fresh with possibilities. Amongst them was the very cool Jeep Gladiator Farout concept, a literal cabin on wheels with wood-lined interior features, soft ambient lighting, a fully functional refrigerator and stove, hanging storage racks, built-in seats, a table space, and a deployable tent with a height of 7.5 feet and a length of 16 feet. If the sense of adventure isn’t clear, the Farout concept also comes with a JPP 2-inch lift kit, 17-inch matte charcoal rims, 37-inch mud-terrain tires, a modified Gladiator Rubicon steel bumper equipped with a 12,000-lb. Warn winch, custom front and rear rock rails and FOX™ performance shocks. This concept has also returned to the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari so…this could be one of the trims to go into production.
And if not the Jeep Farout – let’s face it, there will be a niche audience there – then the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, another concept teased last year, is finally making it into production. Now that’s something we can all look forward to. Powered by a 6.4-liter (392-cubic-inch) V8 engine, capable of generating 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, this beauty is based off of the four-door 2020 Wrangler Rubicon with a performance hood with center scoop, custom-built half doors and Sky One-touch powertop. Because this is an Easter Jeep Safari concept, the Rubicon 392 comes with – you guessed it – a JPP 2-inch lift kit, custom 17-inch beadlock wheels with 37-inch mud-terrain tires, Mopar Rock Rails, steel bumpers with Warn winch and steel belly pan.
