Jeep Unveils New Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 V8 Concept
When people hear “V8” they either think of the vegetable juice blends or the powerful engine found in select vehicles in the auto market. At Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, we fall into the latter category, and always like to learn more about the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) that are powered by a V8, like the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger with all their high-performance glory. As recognizable as these vehicles are, there is one vehicle brand that is unmistakable for any other, and that’s Jeep®. Just recently, Jeep decided to release a new vehicle powered by the well-known V8 engine, the new 6.4-liter V8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept.
The 392 should get some attention. That’s “392” as in the 392-cubic-inch 6.4-liter V8 engine, able to deliver 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque, known to accelerate a vehicle from 0-60 mph in under five seconds. Equipped with Dana 44 axles, a full-time two-speed transfer case, electric front and rear axle lockers, 37-inch mud-terrain tires, a Jeep Performance Parts two-inch lift kit from Mopar, suspension enhancements, and a powerful eight-speed transmission, this Wrangler is the ultimate fun-to-drive Jeep vehicle.

For the best on and off-road performance, the 6.4-liter V8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept gets some upgrades, such as engine mounts, a modified frame, new aluminum monotube Fox shocks for improved damping and heat dissipation, and for those that like making an entrance, a two-mode exhaust alters the performance sound with a single button push. Vroom, VRROOOM. Along with the Selec-Track full-time two-speed transfer case mentioned above, the Jeep also comes with Tru-Lok electric front- and rear-axle locking differentials. This baby rides on custom 17-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch mud-terrain tires. Rubicon rock rails, steel bumpers with a Warn winch, and a steel belly pan help with navigating off-road terrain when things get rough. The Jeep Performance Parts two-inch lift kit and 37-inch tires also help greatly, totaling 34 inches of water fording capability, a ground clearance of 13.25 inches, as well as better approach (51.6 degrees), breakover (29.5 degrees), and departure (40.1 degrees) angles.
No Jeep is complete without a little personalization. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept comes with Granite Crystal exterior paint adorned with Bronze accentuated tow hooks, badging, springs, shocks and wheels. A heavy-duty raised performance hood with an aggressive appearance makes up the front; custom half doors and Wrangler’s Sky One-touch powertop with removable side panels complete the set. Inside, find rich Red Rock-colored leather bolstered seats with gold stitching and a performance steering wheel.
