Ram Trucks is one auto brand to keep an eye on. Changing the game with pickup trucks, we’re bound to see some new concepts in 2019. There are actually two new models already on the horizon, one pickup truck and one special edition – the Ram Rebel 12. It’s no surprise, really. Ram is always releasing a new special edition or appearance package it seems, with a new special edition already set to hit dealerships by the end of the year. Just in time for the coldest days of winter, the 2019 Ram 1500 North Edition is ready to roll.

New Truck and Rebel 12

We won’t just tease you with that intro paragraph. Here’s a quick reminder of what’s coming up for Rama in the next few years. For one thing, Ram Trucks is working on a new midsize Ram pickup truck getting ready to make its big debut. The last time Ram made a midsize pickup truck was back when it was still linked to Dodge with the Dodge Dakota. Plus, according to Automotive News, the new Ram midsize pickup truck is being built on a similar design to the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator Wrangler-based pickup truck.

The Ram Rebel 12 is a special edition made specifically for the Ram 1500 Rebel. Off-road capable, Ram decided to take a note from the Limited Tungsten Special Edition and turn another truck into a luxury vehicle. The Ram 1500 Rebel 12 will come with leather-trimmed seats, heated front row seats, the 12-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen display, birds-eye view camera, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system with a 900-watt surround-sound amplifier, 10-inch subwoofer, and active noise cancellation technology. All of this in addition to the off-road capabilities of the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel.

2019 Ram 1500 North Edition

“The Ram 1500 North is more than a great-looking pickup, it offers cold-weather content for truck owners who require a no-compromise 4×4 as part of their daily regimen. A factory lift, locking rear axle and all-weather tires deliver confidence when your path is anything but clear,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand.

You heard the man. Although Ram Trucks is known for making a lot of appearance packages that don’t go beyond changing the exterior or interior look of the vehicle, the Ram 1500 North Edition is built to tackle colder climates while keeping consumers safe and comfortable. Build off of the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn trim, the North Edition can be configured with a Crew Cab, 4×4 drivetrain, either powertrain, and any bed the Crew Cab can come with. That means consumers have the choice of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine equipped with a mild-hybrid eTorque system or the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with or without eTorque.

To keep the Ram 1500 able, the 2019 Ram 1500 North Edition comes with a 1-inch factory lift, engine block heater, a 4×4 transfer case, an electronically locking rear axle, heavy-duty shocks, exposed tow hooks, a Class IV receiver hitch, hill-descent control, and heated exterior mirrors. Those of us in South Florida may need not worry about the snow, but since this truck is going to all 50 states, the Ram North Edition comes with three-peak mountain snowflake on/off-road Falken LT tires rated for severe snow service.

To keep consumers comfortable, there are several weather-minded amenities throughout the interior. These mainly include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. If looking to enjoy the cool air, an optional panoramic moonroof is available.
