New Additions to 2017 Dodge and Ram Lineups
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has been busy changing and adding to the 2016 Ram and Dodge lineups, and it looks like they’ll stay busy making changes to both brands in 2017. While FCA has made it clear that they are focusing on improving their SUV and truck models and lineups, FCA and Dodge is still investing and perfecting the Challenger lineup as well.
While we recapped the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram 2017 lineup highlights here, there is still a lot more to talk about on the 2017 Dodge and Ram lineups.
Colors Galore
With the addition of the revived models coming in 2017, the Dodge Challenger T/A and the Charger Daytona, Dodge has decided to add the new High-Impact Paint (HIP) colors on all Dodge models as options in the 2017 model year. In addition to the Charger and Challenger, the Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan and Viper will be available in two new colors, a revised Yellow Jacket and all-new Green Go, in addition to a number of other standard colors that have been creatively renamed.
Three New 2017 Challenger Models
Despite adding three new Challenger T/A models to the 2017 lineup, there will also be two new Challenger options on the lineup. Coming this fall is a concept car turned into reality. Originally displayed at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, there will now be an available all-wheel drive Challenger, called the Challenger GT AWD. The Challenger will join the Charger as an all-wheel drive muscle car and should open the Challenger up to buyers living in climates with icy and snowy conditions.
Following those models, the Challenger SRT Hellcat will also be available in a wide-body option called the Challenger ADR. This wider body should offer more space for wider tires, which in turn, should help the powerful 707-horsepower SRT Hellcat to grip the road better.
New Ram Special-Edition Night package
Alongside the new 2017 Ram Power Wagon that is scheduled to debut this fall, 2017 Ram 1500 models will be available with a special-edition Night package. This new package will black out all of the exterior features like the 20-inch wheels, “HEX Perf” grille and badging. While the headlights and taillights will also be adorned with black black-bezels, the lights will still provide drivers with a clear view of the road at night.
