Reaching out to the consumer base is one of the best things an automaker can do when it comes to engaging and connecting with its current demographic. People like to feel like their opinions are heard – that’s the whole point of alpha and beta testing a new game, aside from finding bugs and errors. It’s also a huge purpose of blind studies when a group of people are presented with a new product and asked for their feedback, so the company can resolve problems and issues before the product goes live. Sometimes, it’s just to feel like consumers had input in the choice a company makes, like the recent name voted on for the 2023 Chrysler Road Tripper Package. One could say Jeep took the hint and followed in the footsteps of Chrysler for once, asking the community to submit names for the all-new all-electric Wagoneer.

“At the recent Detroit Auto Show, we said that our community will play a part in the process of naming such a special vehicle…Today we are delivering on that promise by providing owners and enthusiasts an opportunity to submit a name for the first-ever electric Wagoneer. This premium and highly efficient SUV is loaded with technology, craftmanship and performance, expanding our presence in the premium mid-sized SUV segment and it will become an essential player in our global EV product offensive,” sa-id Christian Meunier, Jeep brand CEO

Needless to say, the contest is already over, announced back in September during the North American International Auto Show (also known as the Detroit Auto Show). Although the contest ended last week (December 2, 2022), the name chosen has yet to be announced. Unlike the 2023 Chrysler Road Tripper Package that went by a voting system uploaded to social media channels, contestants were able to submit whatever they thought was appropriate to name the all-new all-electric Wagoneer. We’re sure there were plenty of joke submissions as well – like “Electric Woody”, using the original nickname of the Wagoneer back in the day. That has too much low-brow innuendo.

This new electric SUV, joining the 4xe lineup, needs something a little more refined. After all, the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer are the luxury segment entry for Jeep, going full force with upscale models and features. Just recently, the Grand Wagoneer won the Popular Science Best of What’s New Award for the class-exclusive 10.25-inch front passenger interactive display in the SUV. Wagoneer L models have also been announced, following the release of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the first Jeep SUV to offer three rows to increase seating capacity. An electric Wagoneer is still fresh, but it’s as strong as its predecessors. With a manufacturer-estimated all-electric range (AER) of 400 miles on a single charge, 600 horsepower, and able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 3.5 seconds, this is an SUV for the races.

With a sleek, aerodynamic design, Jeep capability is ensured with high towing and payload capacities and all-terrain management. Sporting a signature LED-lit grille, this all-electric SUV will be as iconic as the Wagoneer and all other 4xe models set to join the lineup in the coming years. With production starting in 2024 for North America, it feels far away, but this year has already blown by. Reservations can start for the all-electric Wagoneer model in early 202, so be sure to check back with us on Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram social media to find out when you can reserve your own all-electric Jeep Wagoneer SUV.
