After years of teasing the idea of bringing back the classic station wagon, Jeep gave life to a new, modern Wagoneer. Spawning two models with their reveal in the spring of 2021, Jeep debuted the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, set to be the prestige amongst the entire lineup. The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer series are the luxury entry for the Jeep automotive brand with a premium interior and high tech features. Earlier that year, Jeep revealed the Grand Cherokee L, the first SUV in its lineup to come with three rows. Now it’s a year later, and the expansion has caught up to the Wagoneer series with the new 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L.

“The all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are off to a great start, and we’re always striving to give customers even more of what they want…The new Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L long-wheelbase models give our customers more: a more efficient and more powerful powertrain with the all-new Hurricane twin-turbo engines, and even more space, delivering best-in-class overall passenger volume, second-row legroom and cargo volume behind the third row, all while maintaining best-in-class towing capability of 10,000 pounds and a rewarding driving experience that is confidence-inspiring.” – Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America

The new extended, long-wheelbase 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L of course come with new dimensions. Both models are 12 inches longer overall when compared to their original models. Featuring a 130-inch wheelbase, more than seven inches longer than the original, and the extra length means more cargo space in the interior. Designed with three rows, able to seat up to eight passengers comfortably, the configurations for passengers and cargo really changes things. The new extended L models features best-in-class overall passenger volume of 179.3 cubic feet in the Wagoneer L, best-in-class second-row legroom of 42.7 inches in the Wagoneer L, best-in-class 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row in the Grand Wagoneer L – a total of 15.8 cubic feet more of cargo volume than the standard model.

Also released with the 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L was the new 2023 Wagoneer L Carbide model. Having recently made its global debut in New York, this Wagoneer L comes a blacked0out appearance package that so many other Jeep models are known for. The exterior features Gloss Black wheels; a panoramic tri-pane sunroof; Black Onyx grille rings with a Gloss Black grille texture; Diamond Black lower front and rear fascia and door flares; a Gloss black roof rack; and Gloss black badges, and moldings for the headlamp, mirror, and sill cladding appliques. Inside, a new technical hydrographic dash trim and black headliner greet the driver, with Smoke accent stitching on the Global Black seats, instrument panel, and doors. This model will be made available on the 2022 Wagoneer this spring, and on all 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Wagoneer L models during the second half of 2022.
