What’s New for the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan
Believe it or not, the Chrysler Pacifica minivan is still kicking. Revolutionizing what it means to be a minivan, Chrysler owns that vehicle category with over 100 awards and accolades under its belt. When the Pacifica was first released, it was so impressive, a plug-in hybrid variant was released right after. This was the first (successful) electrified entry for the automaker and the then automotive group (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles; FCA). Returning to 2024 with a couple of extras, check out what’s new for the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica.
What’s New for 2024
Going a little upscale, the Pacifica Pinnacle model features an exclusive new sepia interior color matched with luxurious and comfortable sepia-quilted Nappa leather seats with Light Diesel stitching and Sydney Gray piping. The inside can’t be the only one getting a new color palette, and two new available exterior colors have been added – Red Hot and Baltic Gray. Announced not too long ago was the Pacifica Road Tripper Package, also available in Baltic Gray. Keeping families safe, the Uconnect connected-vehicle platform featurs an Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) to alert the driver of active fire truck, ambulance or other nearby roadway hazards
Returning for 2024
In 2023, the Pacifica came with four trims – the Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. They’re all powered by the 3.6-liter V6 engine, able to generate 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, and equipped with an Electric Start-Stop (ESS) system. Tied to a nine-speed automatic transmission, the fuel economy is 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. All-wheel drive (AWD) was also made available in recent years, although we’re not sure what reason a minivan has to go off-road. Maybe it’s just for safer driving in unsavory driving conditions.
Standard features are all around the exterior and interior of the Pacifica, including heated exterior mirrors with supplemental turn signals, automatic LED headlamps with automatic high-beam control, front fog LED lamps, LED tail lamps, and an interior door handle LED lamp. For wet weather, the windshield wipers are rain-sensitive, and consumers can opt in for Mopar splash guards for increased capability. Depending on the trim, the Pacifica Touring and Touring comes with 17-inch wheels, the Touring Limited comes with 18-inch wheels, and the Pinnacle is equipped with 20-inch wheels.
Inside, cloth upholstery is standard, but leatherette can be found in the Touring L trim, whereas the Limited and Pinnacle trims have Nappa leather upholstery and bucket seats. Second and third-row Stow ‘n Go seats with easy-tilt are a hallmark of the Chrysler Pacifica (not found in the Pinnacle trim), plus a third-row Stow ‘n Go bench. Upscaling the minivan for modern times, the cabin also comes with an 8-way power adjustable driver seat with 4-way lumbar support and heated front seats. The Limited and Pinnacle trims up the ante with an 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat, heated second-row seats, and ventilated front seats. Driver-seat memory can be found on all trims past the base Touring trim. The Touring L also offers the chance for some extra sunlight with a dual panoramic sunroof option.
Uconnect got some upgrades with Uconnect 5, now standard on a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Past the base trim, navigation is made available for the Touring L, standard for the Limited and Pinnacle trims. All trims come with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, steering wheel mounted controls, and Bluetooth wireless technology. For added entertainment, consumers can opt-in for a Blu-Ray/DVD player system, seatback video screens, wireless headphone, and integrated voice command after the base trim. A six speaker sound system is the standard, but the Limited comes with a 15 Alpine speaker system, and the Pinnacle comes equipped with a 19 Harman-Kardon speaker system and subwoofer.
Safety will also be a prime factor in family vehicles. Aside from the usual basics, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica features adaptive cruise control and stop and go, blind spot and cross path detection, lane departure warning plus, a ParkView rear back-up camera, ParkSense rear and front park assist with stop, and full-speed forward-collision warning plus. Past the base (Touring trim), a 360-degree view camera system, and parallel and perpendicular park assist with stop are also available. All Chrysler models are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles, and rust-through coverage for five years or 100,000 miles.
