What’s New for 2020 Ram Trucks
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has released several special edition vehicles this year, like the 35th Anniversary Special Edition for Grand Caravan, Pacifica, and Pacifica Hybrid. In 2018, Ram pickup trucks were the stars of the show, sporting a new look every few months. In 2019, there may not be as many Ram Special Edition pickup trucks as there was in 2018, but there are some notable additions, like the 2019 Ram HD Kentucky Derby Edition. As the end of 2019 draws ever nearer, Ram may be saving any leftover big plans for 2020. Already set for the 2020 model-year, the 2020 Ram 1500 offers new Night editions on Big Horn and Laramie trims, the Ram Rebel gets a new Black Appearance Group package, the 2020 Ram Heavy Duty gets safety upgrades, and the Ram Power Wagon now offers a black wheel option.
So, Ram trucks will be entering 2020 with a lot of new additions. Most recently, the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel pricing was announced with a starting MSRP of $36,890 (plus a destination fee), and it’s a pretty sick ride. Equipped with a new 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine capable of generating the highest half-ton diesel torque at 480 lb-ft and the highest half-ton diesel towing capacity of 12,560 pounds, the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is one hefty contender. This powertrain will also be available on the Ram 1500 Classic model and the Ram Rebel trim.
Speaking of the Rebel, this special trim gets a familiar appearance package for the 2020 model year. Under the name of “Ram Rebel Black Appearance Group”, the group returns with a Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat paint, and everything in black – 18-inch wheels, front spoiler, skid plate, badging, tow hooks and exhaust. The LED headlamps come with black bezels, and the interior is also all black, but a Black and Ruby Red interior is optional. The new Rebel Safety Group includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Go and Hold, Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning-Plus and automatic high-beam headlamps.
For the 2020 Ram 1500, the Ram 1500 Night Edition has returned (available on Big Horn and Laramie models). This look consists of a monochromatic design also enhanced by a black theme with the grille, grille surround, badging, wheels (20-inch on Big Horn, 22-inch on Laramie), and exhaust tips. Dark bezels are also featured on the headlamps and taillights.
There are some additions coming to the 2020 Ram Heavy Duty as well. Some safety upgrades include Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Steering across the lineup, and Blind-spot Monitoring with easy-to-use trailer coverage is available on specific trims. Consumers now have the option of a 50-gallon fuel tank on Crew Cab models with an 8-foot truck bed, and two new paint colors: Olive Green and Hydro Blue. A small addition, the Power Wagon can now come with black wheels.
This is just the start. The 2020 Ram truck lineup is shaping up to be a great addition to the family. Keep up with Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram on social media to find out what else is in store for Ram trucks and other FCA brands.
