The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is Still a Family Sedan

When the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody was first announced, muscle car fans rejoiced! The older yet somehow younger sibling of the mighty Dodge Challenger was finally entering the big leagues. Once made official, Dodge couldn’t help but release a Limited Edition 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona model to revel in the glory of another vehicle powered by the 6.2-litre HEMI V8 engine, able to generate 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, and wearing the demonic-looking Widebody package. There was some doubt, however – there always is. Although many would call the Dodge Charger another muscle car since it shares so many of the high-performance powertrains of the Challenger, but in terms of car segments, the Charger is a four-door passenger car, or at best a sport family sedan.
Put those doubts aside. The Dodge Charger may be known as a great vehicle for comfort and commuting on a daily basis, but that doesn’t mean your auto insurance will look the other way. Just the name “Dodge” makes insurance agents get out a calculator for the upcharge the automaker can cause. This may be a bit of a deterrent, but the idea of burning rubber and speeding down a raceway can be intoxicating if not overpowering. Sure, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is known for its power, and its style can’t be beat with flared fenders, 20-by-11-inch Devil’s Rim forged aluminum wheels, all-season performance tires, an upgraded suspension, a blacked-out rear lip spoiler, and a scalloped hood. Even with all this performance, comfort and convenience aren’t sacrificed in a Dodge Charger.
The dashboard is still the familiar Dodge look with big knobs for the audio and climate controls, and because this is the SRT Hellcat, an integrated infotainment screen with Uconnect and most likely SRT Performance Pages will be included. Dodge cabins are also pretty comfortable. Anyone who has ever gotten into the driver’s seat of a Dodge SRT Hellcat, Challenger or Charger, can feel the difference of comfort versus whatever they’re currently driving. Plus, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody has many standard and available features, including Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, suede headliner, SiriusXM satellite and HD radio, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker, DriveUconnect, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a sunroof. Don’t forget about the sick 19 Harman Kardon speaker system, with Alpine speakers available as an option, along with surround sound (available on all trims).
All of these great features are still available on the 2021 Dodge Charger. With a starting MSRP of $29,995 (plus destination fee), there is a Dodge Charger trim for everyone. Don’t forget, the Dodge Charger got another addition for the 2021 model year. Straight from the 2020 Dodge Challenger, the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, able to 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque, is available for all you muscle car fans who prefer the four-door setup over two. It’s easier when commuting with friends, and who wants to deal with the drunk friend trying to crawl into the backseat when you’re the designated driver? Nah, four doors will do just fine.
