Stellantis Debuts New Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 Special Edition

Stellantis, the culmination of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and French automotive group, the PSA Group, has had some questionable conversations that have raised red flags for some fans of certain brands. Changes will be coming to the FCA lineup, and one of the largest worries was the fate of SRT vehicles with Stellantis and the new larger focus on alternative fuel and electrified vehicles. There was also some argument over Jeep changing two model names “Grand Cherokee” and “Cherokee” for politically correct reasons that have just begun to surface after so many years. Methinks the PSA Group is trying to strong arm FCA with this merger, because a lot of changes are being discussed. In lighter news, the automotive group gets a chance to debut the first new vehicle after the merger, the New Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 Special Edition in North America.
Every year, Mopar reviews the new vehicles that come out every year from FCA and show what consumers can do with the right aftermarket accessories, plenty of which can be purchased from the MOPAR parts catalog. Just recently, Mopar announced over 100 accessories designed specifically for 2021 Ram Rebel TRX. When the Jeep Gladiator was first released, Mopar showed off a customized Jeep Gladiator at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. With the refresh of the Dodge Challenger with the 2019 model, Mopar took to that vehicle and released the Mopar ’19 Dodge Challenger.
2020 was a tricky year, and we can understand Mopar taking a break from producing specially enhanced vehicles for a bit. With 2021 getting business back in action, Mopar opened up its toolbox and combed through the catalog to find the best custom parts to make upgrades to the 2021 Ram 1500 light duty pickup truck. The same vehicle the Rebel TRX is built off of, the Ram 1500 is the most well-known and popular truck in the lineup. With Mopar backing it, Stellantis announced a new, limited-production vehicle built with unique performance parts and accessories from Mopar – the new Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 Special Edition.
“The Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 is a head-turning, factory-backed rig straight from our custom shop…Across the entire Ram lineup, Mopar offers more than 600 quality-tested, factory-backed parts and accessories.” – Mark Bosanac, North America Vice President, Mopar Service, Parts & Customer Care
The base of the Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 is the new 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn/Lone Star Crew Cab 4×4. From the ground up, the Big Horn is already well equipped with 20-inch black wheels riding on 275/55R20 all-season tires straight from the factory; black grille badges; body-color bumper, door handles and fender flares; black-painted mirrors; and a Mopar bed step. The new Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 Special Edition adds a variety of accessories that reinforce the no-compromise, benchmark of Ram trucks. With only 250 units set for production, this is a truly special edition truck, with 210 units slated for the United States and 40 for Canada. The Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 will be available in Billet Silver, Bright White, Flame Red and Hydro Blue.
What special features come with this special edition model?
