Ram Releases Third Installment of Limited-edition ‘Built to Serve’ Trucks
When people think of “Ram Pickup Trucks”, the first thought to come to mind may not be “the U.S. Army”. Hard working, heavy duty, able to get the job done – those are all phrases that come to mind when someone sees a Ram truck. Over the years, what the Ram brand stands for has changed, going from standard work trucks like the Ram Classic to adventure and lifestyle trucks like the new generation Ram 1500 built for off-road glory. Nonetheless, Ram Trucks is paying some homage to the boys in green all over the world with their “Built to Serve Edition” pickup trucks, made up of five rounds, each will pay its dues to a branch of the Army: land, air, or sea. September marks the third installment of those trucks.
“Ram continues to honor all of those who serve or have served in the United States armed forces with distinction through our latest ‘Built to Serve’ offering…The ‘Built to Serve’ adage is something Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are very familiar with as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce.” – Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand, FCA – North America
Celebrating America’s five land, sea and air-based armed forces, the third installment is focusing on an aeronautical-inspired theme, featuring Anvil and Billet Silver exterior colors that match a black interior with Light Diesel Gray accent stitching. Coinciding with the 73rd anniversary of the U.S. Air Force on Friday, September 18, this new “Built to Serve Edition” model couldn’t come out at a better time. Each of the five U.S. military service branches get their own pickup truck that represents it, with a new model released every three months, and with a limited-run. Ram will only produce 1,250 units of the aeronautical truck with Anvil as the exterior color and 1,500 units with Billet Silver as the exterior color.
Like all “Built to Serve Edition” Ram Trucks, this installment comes with a United States flag and “Built to Serve” decal on each of the rear quarter panels; 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique-to-the-edition Technical Gray finish; an all-black grille and surround black bumpers, and black-bezel premium lighting; and body-color wheel flares upgrading the overall look of the exterior. As noted, the interior is also black, with unique, corresponding color stitching: Light Frost, Light Ambassador Blue (second installment), Light Diesel Gray (third installment), Medium Greystone, or Orange. With built-in “Built to Serve”-embroidered Velcro panels, consumers can attach their own patches to personalize their truck a little more with patriot pride.
To separate these trucks from other models, the interior also comes with small editions, like a “Built to Serve” instrument panel badge, lockable console for extra storage (optional), deeply bolstered cloth and vinyl Sport seats, a Black Onyx Chrome interior trim, and all-weather rubber slush mats. Still made for going off-road, each “Built- to Serve Edition” truck also comes with the 4×4 Off-Road Group already installed. That includes all-terrain tires, electronic-locking rear axle, hill-descent control, a front suspension skid plate, steering gear skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, transfer case skid plate, tow hooks, and heavy-duty off-road-calibrated front and rear shock absorbers.
Ram 1500 “Built to Serve Editions are available on body styles and all powertrains. The only limit is how many are available. You can contact Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram now to learn about how you can get yours.
