Last Call for Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger Models
Well, this is it people. It’s “Last Call” for the current generation of the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger. Last week, we talked about the next generation of these muscle cars and how the next Dodge Challenger or Charger will be an all-electric vehicle to start off the eMuscle lineup with some legendary names. Now, it’s completely official. Set to say goodbye to the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger in their current forms, and just like we said, the automaker is going all out with the 2023 model year vehicles to give them a proper send off. We’re talking seven special models, the return of a rainbow of heritage colors (High-Impact Paint), an expansion of SRT Jailbreak models, and a commemorative “Last Call” underhood plaque for all 2023 Charger and Challenger models.
“We are celebrating the end of an era — and the start of a bright new electrified future — by staying true to our brand,” said…At Dodge, we never lift, and the brand will mark the last of our iconic Charger and Challenger nameplates in their current form in the same way that got us here, with a passion both for our products and our enthusiasts that drives us to create as much uniqueness in the muscle car community and marketplace as possible.” – Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis
In recent years, Dodge has broken records and cemented the name in the history books of the automotive industry. Names like Demon, Hellcat, Redeye, Scat Pack, Shaker, and Jailbreak will forever be icons of the muscle car automaker. Known as one of the only true muscle car automakers left, the Dodge Challenger ended the year as the number one muscle car in the U.S., and with enthusiast demand for more, Dodge is bringing out the high-octane high-performance vehicles to the market one last time.
Seven New Models
We knew this was going to happen. How else could Dodge say goodbye to some favorites without releasing special edition models? For the 2023 model year, seven heritage-influenced models will be introduced. Designed to relive the glory days of the rich Dodge heritage, each model produced will be an iconic Dodge model from the past. Going all the way back to the dawn of the muscle-car era in the 1960s and 1970s, we’re going to see a lot of golden oldies reinvented for modern times. More information for six of the seven new models will be released soon, with the seventh and final 2023 Dodge model to be revealed at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, currently scheduled for November 1-4, 2022.
These will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at top-selling Dodge dealerships, so enthusiasts better act fast if they want some of the last true Dodge heritage models in their garage. Speaking of garages, a list of all dealerships to receive the models will soon be posted on DodgeGarage.com, so be sure to keep an eye out for where you can find them. We’ll be sue to let you known on Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram social media if we get any of them in stock.
Heritage Colors
Coming out of the legacy locker, four beloved heritage exterior colors are making their return to the lineup: B5 Blue, Plum Crazy Purple, Sublime Green, and Destroyer Grey. In total, 14 color options will be available for 2023 models. To relive the days of the 345-cubic-inch HEMI® engine, 2023 Charger and Challenger R/T models will also feature new “345” fender badging, but according to Dodge reps, the HEMI itself will not return…supposedly.
Last Call
In addition to these new colors being released, every 2023 Dodge Charger and Challenger model produced will come with a special commemorative “Last Call” underhood plaque that features the vehicle name and a vehicle silhouette, along with the words “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” as a shoutout to the vehicle’s origin. These will be true collector’s items.
Jailbreak Models
When Dodge first released Jailbreak models, there was a lot of excitement. Finally, consumers could fully customize their Dodge Challenger, as long as it was a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody or Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody model. There’s always a catch, but for the 2023 model year, the offer has been expanded to the 717-horsepower Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models. How generous.
Pricing for the “Last Call” models will be released closer to the sale date of the last Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger models to hit the streets. Want to get your hands on a Dodge Challenger while still available in high-octane high-performance glory? Or maybe a Dodge Charger with four doors is your style.
