Jeepin’ Season is Around the Corner!
The 2017 Jeep Jamboree is starting soon, early next month in fact. If you’re a Jeep enthusiast, or just own a Jeep and want to go hang out with other Jeepers, then Jeep Jamboree events may be what you’re looking for. Before you do that though, there are a couple of points to cover. Here’s what you need to know to enjoy these events.
What IS a Jeep Jamboree?
Okay, so what is this first of all? A Jeep Jamboree is a two-day four-wheel drive adventure for families and friends to experience everything Jeep vehicles have to offer. Check out modified rigs, experience challenging off-road situations, and of course, make new friends. There are multiple events taking place across America at a variety of locations from March 2 – October 26, 2017. What You NEED for a Jeep Jamboree
Before gearing up and packing your things, there are several pieces of mandatory equipment to have with you. Meaning even if you paid in full several weeks ago, you’ll be looking at a refund or penalty and turned away from the event. So it’s best to have the following:
– A CB Radio to keep in contact with the rest of the group and guides, primarily for safety situations and notifications transmitted over CB radio. However, you can always use it to make plans with people you meet by switching stations.
– A full-size spare tire. A standard donut isn’t going to cut it, especially when going off-road with a 4×4 system.
– Front and Rear Tow Hooks are great for getting out of a jam. They must be properly mounted with grade-eight bolts and easily accessible at either end. If you can’t get tow hooks, drawbars, receiver hitches, or aftermarket bumpers with manufacturer-installed clevis or D-ring anchor points are acceptable alternatives.
There are several recommended pieces of equipment, especially if this is your first real Jeep outing: skid plates (oil pan, gas tank, and transfer case), rock rails/sliders, tow straps, self-recovery winches, winching accessory kit, quadratec d-rings and receiver mounts, and a hi-lift jack. Basically, if you have all of this, not only will you have optimized your chances of having a smooth and fun event, but you can always share some of your knowledge with and help others – a great way to make new friends.

Events take place in multiple locations across America. Sadly, none take place in Florida, but there are some locations close to us if you don’t mind a road trip.
