Jeep Wagoneer S Gets Huge Advertisement on North America HQ Tower
Next to Chrysler, the off-road automaker Jeep® was one of the first Stellantis (then Fiat Chrysler) brands to introduce plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Known as the Jeep 4xe lineup, every model in the off-road lineup was getting electrified with a large battery and an electric motor. Wrapping it up with the Jeep Gladiator 4xe, Jeep is moving on to fully-electrified vehicles. The first Jeep battery-electric vehicles are already happening overseas, but here in the States, we have two models already lined up, starting with the Jeep Wagoneer S.
Reservations for the 2024 Jeep Wagoner S Launch Edition already started in early June 2024. With a starting U.S. MSRP of $71,995 (plus destination fee), this is one for the die-hard fans who want to really experience the kind of torque a BEV can generate at 0 RPM. Featuring standard 7.9 inches of ground clearance, the Wagoneer S comes with front tow hooks, wide fenders, and large tires for off-road adventure. With driving modes for Sport, Auto, ECO, Snow, and Sand, this luxury off-road electric SUV also delivers an all-electric range of (AER) of over 300 miles.
That’s right, a luxury off-road electric vehicle. When Jeep started Wagoneer, it was first used as a subsidiary brand for its entry into the luxury car segment. The Wagoner and Grand Wagoneer were launched, but the former seems to be getting much more attention. Now that it’s gone electric, expect it to be the new flagship for the Jeep BEV lineup.
Powered by a 400-volt electrical system and a single electric motor able to generate 617 lb-ft of instant torque, the Jeep Wagoneer S boasts performance. Speed is also key, and this electric Jeep can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds. That makes the Jeep Wagoneer S faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance model and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the fastest Jeep SUV until now.
The first official Jeep BEV in America, the company’s North American headquarters in Michigan celebrated the launch with an image wrapped around the building, as seen above. It will be a hard sign to miss along Interstate 75 in Auburn Hills. If companies thought billboards were good advertising, just think about the attention when advertising on a building. Covering 10 floors of the west side of the Jeep North American headquarters building, the wrapped image measures over 15,293 square feet. Every day, an estimated 140,000 motorists will pass by, giving the new Wagoneer S great exposure. Surely, there will be a lot of word of mouth going around to gather even more attention for the all-new, all-electric 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S.
Scheduled to arrive first in the U.S. and Canada this fall, the Jeep Wagoneer S will be going global, unlike the Jeep Avenger BEV, currently only sold overseas and doing well in Europe. The second Jeep BEV slated for America is the Jeep Recon. We don’t know much about this BEV, but we expect it to be a smaller version of the Jeep Wagoneer S. It certainly won’t be the last. Like the 4xe strategy, all Jeep brand vehicles in North America will offer an electrified version of the model by 2025.
