Jeep Joins USO to Send Care Packages to Service Members Overseas

The off-road automaker Jeep® celebrated 23 years as the “Most Patriotic Brand” this year (2024) according to Brand Keys Most Patriotic Brands survey. In the last 75 years, Jeep has celebrated its American roots in a number of ways, such as the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition and giving back to the military with the Jeep Military Incentive program. This year, Jeep is doing a little more for the men and women overseas doing their part to keep America safe. Jeep and the USO (United Service Organizations) joined forces at Stellantis North America headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan to assemble and send out holiday care packages to active service members who will be away for the holidays this year.
“The Jeep brand has a long-standing relationship with the USO, and the outpouring of support by our volunteers is one more way we all come together to stand behind our troops…From donating Jeep vehicles to USO locations, to supporting USO gaming efforts, to participating in care package events like this one, we want to continue to do everything that we can to help the USO strengthen the well-being of service members and their families.” – Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president of Jeep North America
Being away from family can be tough for parents and/or children. Many of us have seen those videos of a child or loved one running through the airport to find embrace in the arms of someone they dearly missed – and there’s always somebody cutting onions nearby. Little care packages, made for their namesake, are a great way to show someone that you care. Parents sometimes send them to college students, employers may send a gift card to employees to help with a little holiday shopping, and Jeep wants to show it to the armed forces with a little something for the upcoming holidays.
In mid-September, 2024, over 150 Stellantis employees joined together to help assemble more than 10,000 holiday care packages. What better way to spread a little holiday joy and cheer? And we’re sure it made plenty of people feel good about doing a little something for a stranger. The USO Care Package Program has been designed to help give service members a little part of home to take with them on the road. This year, the needs of military men and women are being met with essential toiletries, holiday socks, games, snacks, and something specifically requested by troops: a Jeep brand reversible beanie. How cute!
Other care package items include the bag the care package is in, the aforementioned Jeep brand beanie, HOIST hydration powder to mix into some water (kind of like Gatorade), instant coffee, Jack Links jerky, Mini M&Ms, holiday candy (just in time for Halloween), lip balm for that dry desert heat, playing cards (are active military members allowed to play drinking games?), holiday socks, and USB-powered holiday lights. It’s a nice little combination of things to give service members a little holiday cheer when they’re spending time away from their loved ones while in service to the U.S.
Jeep has been doing this for nearly 20 years. Helping to support the USO’s mission to keep the nation’s heroes strong since 2008, we’re sure Jeep will continue to do what they can to give back. Want to do your part? You can help Jeep continue the tradition by making sure they have the money to spare. You should buy a new Jeep at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram to show your support.
