Jeep and Volta Charging Partner Up for New Jeep Ads

Jeep is still headstrong on raising awareness about the 4xe series in a new partnership with Volta Industries, Inc. (“Volta Charging”).

Jeep has been reshaping its lineup over the past year, making good on its word to produce a plug-in hybrid electric version of every model in its lineup (4xe models). Two further push these models and make it easier for consumers to switch over to greener cars, Jeep was also launching the Jeep 4xe Charging Network, in partnership with Electrify America, to install Jeep-branded EV charging stations at or near the trailheads of Jeep Badge of Honor off-road trails in 2021. Sadly, the global chip shortage is going to make it very difficult to make  any charging stations, let alone more electric and eco-friendly vehicles. While these may take a back seat, Jeep is still headstrong on raising awareness about the 4xe series in a new partnership with Volta Industries, Inc. (“Volta Charging”).

Volta Industries, Inc. is an industry leader in commerce-centric electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, with their Volta Charging stations, they are slowly becoming more popular. The best way to explain it is modern gas stations – today, some silly little clip or news report pops up to entertain drivers while at the pump. EV charging stations don’t have this luxury – unless it’s a Volta Charging station. Featuring large, eye-catching digital displays, consumers at the pump will also be able to watch content, but nothing crazy – I doubt anyone can stream a show while waiting 30 minutes to charge up, although that wouldn’t be a bad idea to install Netflix into these things.

How does this serve Jeep? Volta Charging’s dynamic weather-based ad capability will be set to broadcast two different creative concepts from the Jeep brand. If the sun is out, the display will play an advertisement of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe with the top down, ready for a new adventure. Each ad also comes with its own tagline: (1) “embracing nature has never felt more natural” for the sunny days, and (2) “charge ahead and take on the elements” for cloudy days. If the weather isn’t too bright, the original Jeep Wrangler appears. Either way, Jeep is enforcing the Wrangler, plug-in hybrid or otherwise.

“As the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe becomes firmly established in the marketplace, this unique network takeover with Volta Industries allows the brand to reach drivers at key moments in their daily commutes as they charge their vehicles…And as the first brand, automotive or otherwise, to implement Volta’s unique, dynamic weather-based technology, capturing the local outdoor conditions on 55-inch screens, it also creates an authentic connection to our drivers and the Jeep brand’s legendary status as the go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle for any lifestyle.” – Marissa Hunter, vice president, marketing, North America – Stellantis

Volta Charging’s digital media network reaches more than 70 million consumers in 14 of the 15 largest designated market areas for potential consumers in the market. The outreach is a huge plus for Jeep and Jeep 4xe models. Currently, three 4xe models have been released – Wrangler 4xe, Renegade 4xe, and Compass 4xe. Although the latter two were only made available in Europe, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe went global, and a Grand Cherokee 4xe has been spotted in spy photos. Are you interested in going a little green?
