2025 Ram 1500 Brings Back the Tungsten Edition Model
The auto market can be a fickle thing. New-generation models of new cars are sold out on preorder, and special-edition models disappear too quickly. Just when it seems like they’re gone, the automaker brings them back. Muscle car automaker Dodge couldn’t let go of the Dodge Viper at one point, and the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon didn’t last long – but in 2023, Dodge brought it back, and renamed it the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. In 2018, Ram launched the Ram Limited Tungsten Edition. A new height for Ram Truck luxury, but once disappeared from the lineup. In 2023, Ram announced the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, and with it returns the new ultra-premium Ram 1500 Tungsten model.
With all the media on the 2025 Ram Truck lineup, it seems like the new 2025 Ram 1500 could appear on lots sooner rather than later. The model year happens at some point in the third quarter of the year, and most automakers start to turn over old models and place focus on the new models. In six months, the 2025 Ram 1500 could start hitting dealership lots, and so could the Ram 1500 Tungsten model. The height of the lineup, the 1500 Tungsten is designed with high-quality authentic materials to give consumers a more premium and luxurious driving experience. The exterior gets a small change to the rear, featuring an all-new power tailgate, a premium LED taillight design, and a contemporary R-A-M badge.
Inside, the Tungsten model is the real deal. The upholstery is made of premium quilted Natura Plus leather, giving a lush appeal to the Indigo/Sea Salt color scheme. Accented with new platinum patina/semi-bright dual-textured metal, front seats are already amazing – 24-way power adjustable, memory settings, a massage function, power lumbar support, and four-way powered headrests – but they had us at massage function, right? Nothing compares to the well-crafted, high-quality feel and appearance of a Ram 1500 Tungsten model, featuring a Tungsten badge on the center console featuring inlaid metal lettering and diamond knurling, upon which is printed the vehicle identification number (VIN). Brushed platinum patina aluminum litho bezels and a unique crystal-effect shifter center cap complete the look.
Offering the best of technology, the Ram 1500 already comes with the most advanced Uconnect system ever, the Uconnect 5. Since its release, the Uconnect 5 has been shown to almost mirror user’s smartphones home and/or app screens. Now, digital stores like Jeep Connect and Dodge Connect are starting to pop up to offer consumers custom apps. As far as entertainment goes, the Tungsten model comes equipped with an ultra-premium Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system with 23 speakers. All-new class exclusive dual wireless chargers have been introduced to recharge mobile phones easily.
In addition to the new Tungsten model, many other top-tier trims see some changes for 2025. The Bighorn/Lone Star offers the new Gridiron paint with laser etching decorative trim accents on the dashboard, doors and console; the Laramie adds a new optional Bison Brown/Sea Salt Gray two-tone interior for consumers looking for something other than the standard black interior. The original off-road Ram 1500, the Rebel, features a new red/black ombre mesh insert material on the standard seats (upholstery, a combination of cloth and vinyl). A little higher on the lineup, the Limited Longhorn shines with the new Barn Wood 45 open pore real wood veneer and is the only trim available with the all-new Bison Brown monochromatic interior and massaging front seats. The top-tier Limited model isn’t as the name implies, featuring a new Black Ebony open pore real wood veneer with decorative trim accents, plus a new optional black/ebony red interior color package to replace the standard black monochromatic interior with a dramatic two-tone effect – plus – massaging front seats. I sense a pattern here, and I like it.
