2023 Jeep Beach Week Was a Blast!
Earlier this month (May 2023), Jeep celebrated Jeep Beach Week. Like Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep Beach Week is a large event, and this time, Jeepers don’t have to travel to Moab, Utah to get in on the action. Those of us in South Florida get to enjoy this one. Whether looking to socialize or show off your Jeep, every year, Jeepers flock to Daytona Beach for the Jeep Beach event, and this year had a large turnout with more than 230,000 attendees and over 30,000 Jeep SUVs showing up. Now that’s a testament to the popularity of the off-road automaker.

2023 marks the 20th anniversary of Jeep Beach, taking place in Daytona Beach, Florida since the very beginning. Usually, that kind of milestone would call for a new Jeep concept, like the 2022 Jeep Wrangler High Tide of last year. This year, there were so many interesting concepts during the 2023 Easter Jeep Safari, the automaker brought the Wrangler Magneto 3.0 EV Concept and the 1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept to the event. These two Jeep SUVs also led the Jeep Beach Parade on Sunday, April 30 with Morrison behind the wheel of the Magneto.
Building upon the Jeep Magneto concepts that came before it, the Magneto is a battery-electric vehicle (BEV), previously capable of generating 273 lb-ft of torque at 0 RPMs. This year, the Jeep Magneto 3.0 came with two power settings available – a standard setting that could generate 285 horsepower/273 lb-ft of torque setting, or the maximum 650 horsepower/900 lb-ft of torque setup. A new, aggressive hill descent mode was also added for “one pedal” off-road driving and rock crawling. Outfitted with Dynatrac 60 front axles (5.38:1 ratio), Dynatrac 80 rear axles (5.38:1 ratio), 20-inch off-road beadlock wheels, 40-inch mud terrain tires, and a custom 3-inch lift, this Jeep concept goes to show that an all-electric Jeep is just as capable as the rest of the lineup.
Back to the Jeep Beach event, fans of Jeep didn’t need to own a Jeep to experience the off-road action of a Jeep SUV. Event attendees had the chance for a ride along through the Jeep SUV obstacle course with a professional driver. Several 2023 Jeep models were available, including the electrified Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe. Mimicking a showroom at the event, fans could also check out some of models currently available, such as the new 2023 Compass Trailhawk, Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve, Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve 4×4, Wrangler Rubicon, Wrangler 4xe, Gladiator Rubicon, and the Wrangler Jeep Beach 20th Anniversary Edition. Along with the Wrangler Magneto 3.0 and 1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe, several other concepts from the Daytona Garage showed up, including the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Pace Jeep, Gladiator Sport Light Show Edition, Gladiator Sport 1st Responder Edition, Wrangler Sport Salute to America Edition, and Willys Daytona’s Jeep Beach Edition.
Since 2012, Jeep Beach has also been used as a fundraiser event, raising more than $2 million to donate local charities throughout central Florida counties. This year, Jeep Beach went beyond and raised funds for local and national charities to spread the wealth.
