What’s New On 2020 Dodge Models
2020 is shaping up to be a great model year for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). The 2020 Ram 1500 is already earning awards, with the 2020 Ram 1500 earning a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and recently, all sorts of data about 2020 Dodge models has surfaced. Oh yes, we know what’s new, and you can read all about it here. Let’s get started, here’s what’s new for 2020 Dodge models.
2020 Dodge Grand Caravan
An oldie but a goodie, the Dodge Grand Caravan led the minivan segment for decades. So much so, that this year (2019), Fiat Chrysler Automobiles released a 35th Anniversary Special Edition for the Dodge Grand Caravan, as well as the Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid models. Still, the minivan hasn’t changed much with the times, and it may see its final years. Down to only three trims, Dodge spiced up the SE Plus trim by adding second-row Super Stow ‘n Go bucket seats and in-floor storage bin, power eight-way driver seat, and an all-black interior standard. Also available on the SE Plus and SXT trims is an optional Blacktop package to provide a sportier, more aggressive look to the Caravan.
2020 Dodge Durango/Durango SRT
Make way for this three-row SUV. Able to equip a 392-cubic-inch HEMI® V8 engine under the hood, the 2020 Dodge Durango SRT can deliver 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque on the road, able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds. With all that to gloat about, only a few new additions made it onto the 2020 model year. With the following trims – SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT, the R/T features some incentives of its own.
The 2020 Dodge Durango R/T features a chrome HEMI front fender badge but comes with a Matte Black badge when equipped with the available Blacktop or Brass Monkey Appearance Packages. For a little luxury, a Premium Interior Group is available, adding Dinamica suede-wrapped headliner and hand-wrapped instrument panel with live accent stitching. Lastly, if opting in for the Blacktop Package, a 20-inch wheel design is made available in a Gloss Black finish.
2020 Dodge Journey
Known as the crossover of the lineup, Dodge has simplified the 2020 Dodge Journey into two trims – the Journey SE Value and Journey Crossroad. Both are equipped with a 2.4-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine that produces 172 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque. Both models also come with Rear Park Assist. Not standard on both is an equipment package, only found on the Dodge Journey Crossroad, with a sunroof!
If looking to up the ante, a new Popular Equipment Group is available on both, the Journey SE Value and Journey Crossroad trims. With this, consumers get Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth, SiriusXM Radio with a 12-month subscription, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, tri-zone temperature control, power driver seat, premium cloth seating, security alarm, and interior observation mirror. If adding this to the Crossroads trim, then navigation, six premium speakers and subwoofer, heated front seats and steering wheel, remote start, and a universal garage door opener are also included.
2020 Dodge Challenger/Challenger SRT
Moment of silence. This could be the last model year of the Dodge Challenger that sees an SRT engine above 707 horsepower. The lineup still holds a place for the “Demon-possessed” 797-horsepower SRT Hellcat Redeye, and all sorts of new additions have been added to make 2020 a bang. From the ground up, nine new wheels and finishes have been added throughout the lineup, giving each trim a new distinct set of wheels to call its own.
Three new exterior paint options have been added. Dodge is known for their High Impact Paint (HIP) color legacy, and Frostbite, Hellraisin, and Sinamon Stick all sound loud – they’ll be available later into the year, though. Some new badges have also been added, including new HEMI fender badges on R/T models and a Scat Pack Bee spoiler badge on the R/T Scat Pack trim. Making luxury a standard, the entire lineup comes with all-new premium-stitched dash and upper door panels equipped with leather. If looking for a color as sweet as the exterior, a new Caramel Alcantara interior color option is available on 2002 Dodge Challenger GT, R/T and R/T Scat Pack trims.
Looking for more? Optional on all trims with a V8 engine, consumers can opt-in for Carbon Fiber bezels packaged with a Dynamica suede headliner. The 2020 Dodge Challenger GT RWD and R/T have the option of adding a new flat-bottom leather steering wheel included with Performance Handling Group; the R/T Scat Pack comes with a new Dynamics Package; and don’t forget the ability to add the Widebody onto the R/T Scat Pack trim. The entire lineup consists of the SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye trims, each with their own reasons to love.
Dodge has yet to release the data on the new 2020 Dodge Charger, except for the 2020 Dodge Charger Pursuit, and since that’s not available to the public, who cares?! Stay tuned to Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram social media to find out when these new 2020 Dodge models are available.
