Last week we discussed how the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica was included on the U.S. News and World Report’s list of “Most High-Tech Features for the Money.” A couple of other FCA vehicles were named too, consisting of the 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2018 Jeep® Renegade. We thought we’d cover these two a little more extensively this week, especially with Jeep finally offering attainable high tech features in the Renegade’s lower-tier trims and the chunk of new tech offerings by Ram on the redesigned 2019 Ram 1500.

2019 Ram 1500

We already know the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is pretty great. We were in love with it for awhile when it first debuted, and it felt like every week there was another tidbit of amazing news, right down to the affordable MSRP of $31,695 (plus destination fee). The U.S. News and World Report focused on the available technology, while also mentioning how the 2019 Ram 1500 has the lowest base price in the full-size pickup segment. The media company even said the 1500 light duty pickup truck matches up with the 2018 Ford F-150, currently suffering from halted production (YES!).

“In addition to its available Uconnect infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Ram features an optional air suspension for a smoother ride than rivals offer. Multiple ride heights can be selected for varying road conditions,” – John M. Vincent, U.S. News & World Report Journalist.

So while the U.S. News and World Report mainly focuses on the available Uconnect infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and how the Ram features an optional air suspension for a smoother ride than what its rivals offer, we feel they missed a few things. Multiple ride heights for varying road conditions is great, but overlooking the Harman Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and 10-inch subwoofer or the new SiriusXM 360L platform is heresy. There’s a whole lot more consumers can get with the 2019 Ram 1500 light duty pickup truck.

Not only is the 2019 Ram 1500 the first vehicle to debut the next-generation SiriusXM 360L platform, now with more variety, smart content recommendations, and limitless on-demand streaming audio, but the truck also comes with an available 12-inch touchscreen, a class-exclusive. Plus, it’s configurable for easy personalization – consumers can operate two different applications, such as Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto) and the a/c system, or display navigation across the entire 12-inch touchscreen thanks to a new split-screen feature. The all-new Ram 1500 pickup truck also offers a 360-degree Surround View Camera system that provides a birds-eye view of the vehicle via four cameras positioned around the chassis for peace of mind anytime. If on a tight budget, Uconnect 4 with or without navigation on an 8.4-inch display and Uconnect 3 with a 5-inch display are still offered, along with a standard six speaker system and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system. 4G WiFi hotspot capability is also available.

2018 Jeep Renegade

Jeep is known for holding out on high-tech features and saving them for the high-end trims of the lineup. The 2018 Jeep Renegade helps to change that. The standard setup for the base trim (Sport) of the 2018 Jeep Renegade may be Uconnect 3 with a 5-inch display, but consumers are instantly given the option to upgrade to Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch display, or opt in for the Uconnect 7.0 Group for Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch display with dual-zone auto temperature control, Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® streaming audio, voice command, and hands-free calling.

If going up a trim to the Renegade Latitude or beyond, then all of those great features are included as a standard. Plus, the 2018 Jeep Renegade is also a little more attainable in 2018, with the highest 4×4 MSRP slated at $27,145 (plus destination fee). It’s like Jeep is turning over a new leaf, maybe even a whole tree.

Things are looking up for the Fiat Chrysler Automobile Group. Stocks are on the rise, media companies love them, and the awards keep piling up. Ready for your own award-winning vehicle? Find the 2019 Ram 1500 or the 2018 Jeep Renegade at Aventura CJDR.
