The 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is Available Now
If there’s one thing muscle car automaker Dodge is reluctant about, it’s seeing the end of their high-performance powertrain lineup. What started with the announcement of eMuscle, Dodge was slow to become an electric car automaker, but not before it hosted an assortment of “Last Call” models, starting with the “Last Call” Dodge Challenger and Charger models, the “Last Call” for HEMI-powered Dodge Challenger and Charger models, and then the “Last Call” for V8 Dodge Durango models, starting with the Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI. Truly signifying the final run of 475-horsepower Durango SRT 392 V-8 models, Dodge brings back the Dodge Horsepower Locator to give consumers an easy way to find which dealerships have one of the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI models on the lot.
This wouldn’t be the first time Dodge has claimed a “Last Call” model, or the discontinuation of high-octane performance cars. Remember how many fakeouts we got with the Dodge Viper? It came back, what, two or three times? The “Last Call” models for the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger were true for the latter, but it was never clear if 2023 would be the last gasoline-powered Dodge Charger. If the next generation of the Dodge Charger released alongside the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT BEV, is anything to go by, the answer is “no”. The initial last call run ended with the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, but we knew this wouldn’t be the last.
If looking for true SRT power, there will be another last call later this year, set to wrap up by December 31, 2024. Known as the 2025 Dodge Durango Last Call special-edition, these models will denote the end of the 5.7L HEMI-powered Durango R/T and the legendary 710-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine. We truly are saying goodbye to the most powerful SUV ever. Such is life.
The 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is a true limited edition model, with a run of only 1000 units. All four of the aforementioned colors are the only paint jobs available, with more or less 250 units of each. To spice up the Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI from the start, this limited edition model comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and an assortment of changes. These include yellow SRT Brembo brakes and Black exhaust tips, honeycomb-textured dual exterior stripes with yellow-accent borders, satin Black “392” vinyl fender decals with yellow accents, 20-by-10-inch Satin Black forged SRT wheels, Midnight Metallic grille and liftgate badges, SRT interior accented with yellow and silver stitching throughout the cabin (seats, steering wheel and shifter), an SRT “392” logo embroidered on seatbacks with yellow and silver stitching, a leather and suede steering wheel featuring a red LED SRT logo, and forged carbon-fiber interior accents. Each and every one of these is powered by the 6.4-liter SRT HEMI V8 engine, able to produce 475 horsepower.
Sounds pretty great, right? And it all has a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $89,795 (plus destination fee).
