Words by Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand. He couldn’t be more right. When the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn was released for the 2019 model year, it was a large step above the rest of the lineup. Mixing high-scale luxury with old-school features that paid homage to the old ways of the western world before lawmen started bringing order. It was quite the beauty, made with premium materials, the wood, metal, and leather elements for a distinguished look and feel truck owners may be unfamiliar with, but were all too excited to get in. Ram has simply chose to commemorate the height of southwestern luxury by unveiling the new 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition pickup truck.
Ah, Anniversary Editions. Like special and limited editions, they’re always an extra bit special to make them, well, special. Starting off the 1500 Limited Longhorn of 2019, the 2020 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition comes with similar features and design cutes, including the antique pocket watch and hand-tooled leather cowboy boots. Wood, metal and leather elements also made it into the design, continuing to prove that Ram trucks aren’t just work trucks anymore. Of course, it can be used for that, outfitted with premium LED lamps with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), chrome bumpers, tow hooks, and side steps (power optional), a multi-function tailgate, and new 20-inch wheels.
Inside the Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition, consumers will find a segment-exclusive, leather-wrapped dashboard; new suede door bolsters and leather bolster seat inserts with a Laser Filigree detail to highlight its southwestern style, hammered metal aluminum liquid graphite accents, a 10th Anniversary Edition cluster graphic and badge, a Gloss Black shifter center cap with silver on stripe, metal pedal kit, and a brushed-zinc antique badge flush with the console lid. All-in-all, it gives the 10th Anniversary Edition a well-crafted, high-quality feel, and an unforgettable appearance – at least on the inside. It’s all matched with a Mountain Brown interior.
Like all great special Ram truck editions, the Ram 1500 is available with a number of configurations, and the 10th Anniversary Edition offers a couple of choices. When it comes to power, consumers have the choice of putting the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 or 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine under the hood. Sadly, only a Crew Cab body configuration is available, installed with a 5-ft.-7-in. truck bed standard. Consumers can switch it out for a 6-ft.-4-in. bed instead.
