2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Relives the Wild West
During the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, also known as the 2018 North American International Auto Show, many new cars and concepts took the stage. Amongst them was the debut of the new 2019 Ram 1500, practically a next-generation model in its own right. During that time, the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) Group released all the 2019 Ram 1500 specs, and at the “Oscars of the Automotive Industry,” that took place during the 2018 North American International Auto Show, the 2019 Ram 1500 won Best of Show award. Now, more news has been released – the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition will be available.
Ram truck enthusiasts out there know that the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is the second-to-best trim out of the lineup. Able to be configured with a crew cab and a 5-foot 7-inch truck bed, or a crew cab with a 6-foot 4-inch truck bed, the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn offers great configurations for passenger and cargo space inside-and-out. Now with the 2019 model year, the Laramie Longhorn is getting its own set of changes to really make it one of the best truck trims on the market.
If the many 2017 Ram special edition trims weren’t enough, the Laramie Longhorn will be the luxury truck to end them all. Made with premium materials, the wood, metal, and leather elements are all authentic and they give the Ram truck a distinguished look and feel. Many iconic features and design cues were also borrowed for the new Laramie Longhorn trim, from traditionally handcrafted, time-tested wares such as the antique pocket watch to hand-tooled leather cowboy boots and a horseman’s saddle.
To ensure the high-end trims are noticeable, Ram is making the Laramie Longhorn models stand out with a standard two-tone RV Match Brown trim and premium LED headlamps and tail lamps. A chrome billet “RAM” grille and chrome header also surround the premium LED lamps (made with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) technology). Chrome bumpers, tow hooks, side steps, and wheel flares come standard. Even more iconic, the front doors and tailgate sport the Laramie Longhorn Edition belt-buckle badge.
The quality craftsmanship continues in the cabin with a segment-exclusive, hand-wrapped, 100-percent full-grain leather dashboard and door-panels and armrest coverings with southwestern-inspired designs. To up the ante even more, the upholstery is made up of embossed alligator skin pattern leather that covers many interior surfaces, including the center console, instrument panel, seats, and door panel inserts. The style doesn’t end there though.
Seriously, we feel like Ram went all out with the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn. Along with the above details, consumers will also find satin chrome accents, a brushed-nickel metal badge flush-mounted on the console lid, and a new “Longhorn” branding mark has been burned onto the wood-trimmed upper glove box door. In conjunction with this, real barn-wood accents are used throughout the cabin, wood tandem doors on the center console provide closed storage space, and ambient lighting throughout the cabin creates a luxurious and soothing atmosphere at night.
When it comes to personalization, consumers will have choices of 20- or 22-inch wheels offered with a variety of complementary finishes and two two-tone interior colors – Mountain Brown/Light Mountain Brown and Black/Cattle Tan. Available features for entertainment and comfort consist of heated, full-leather rear seats and class-exclusive rear seat ventilation, a 4G WiFi hotspot, the exclusive SiriusXM 360L personalized listening experience, SiriusXM Guardian, and five USB ports to link with the award-winning Uconnect system, featured on the optional, segment-leading 12-inch touchscreen that features split-screen capability for dual-application operation or full-screen single application operation.
