Ram and Chris Stapleton Design One-of-a-Kind 2500 HD Traveller Pickup Truck
With Dodge bringing its current generation of high-performance muscle cars to a close with its Dodge “Last Call” run, the last-of-the-last gasoline muscle car models to leave the production line, some other automakers in the Stellantis group are also running a last call of their own, like the final EcoDiesel 2023 Wrangler Rubicon FarOut model. Simultaneously, Jeep has also joined with a third-party to show what Jeep SUVs can do, even if EcoDiesel options fade out, like the partnership between Jeep and ADDAX for the new Overland Trailer. It would seem Jeep is not alone in this endeavor, because another strong automaker in the automotive group just announced its own one-of-a-kind vehicle produced from a partnership. Ram Truck brand collaborated with Chris Stapleton to create a one-of-a-kind Ram “Traveller” truck.

The eight-time Grammy-winning artist worked with the Ram Truck design team to design this new pickup truck, built on the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty model lineup, pays homage to the roots of Ram and Stellantis. This includes a lot of the work Stapleton has had with Ram Truck, including the 2016 Ram Nation concert and instrument donation for students at Stapleton’s former high school in Paintsville, KY; a multi-year campaign running Stapleton’s custom rendition of “I’m a Ram”; and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s current exhibit, Chris Stapleton: Since 1978 – all presented by Ram Trucks. With custom exterior and interior design cues, the Ram “Traveller” has a lot of styling from the late 1970s and 1980s as well as the look of modern vehicles today.
For the exterior, the Ram 2500 looks like the 1979 Ram Palomino truck, with paint colors Linen Cream, Radar Red, Bison Brown, and Cashmere making the pickup standout. The iconic striped graphics of the Palomino return with retro-inspired Turbo Fin 18-inch wheels to update the nostalgic classic 80’s appearance to modern times. Unique badges appear, influenced by the classic Ram 1980s badge fonts for the “Traveller” badging, and like the old days, the Ram hood comes with a three-dimensional ornament, in the shape of a Ram’s head no less, to really stand out with that vintage appearance – hopefully this doesn’t also bring back the days of stealing hood ornaments for whatever reason.
Inside, the cabin takes more inspiration from Stapleton’s musical career journey with personal design details, unique colors, textures, and materials. These include a custom, monochromatic Bison Brown color throughout the entire cabin, buffalo plaid flannel popping off the headrests, and even material identical to that of the jacket worn by Stapleton on the cover of his debut album, Traveller. The cloth upholstery is accented with Walnut Burl wood, the speaker grilles resemble guitar amps, and a custom front-row bench seat brings it all together. Finally, a customized Chris Stapleton signature has been engraved into the wood of the instrument panel.
Set for its official reveal Nashville museum alongside the current exhibit Chris Stapleton: Since 1978 at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Ram “Traveller” pickup truck most likely won’t be produced for the masses – that’s why they call it “one-of-a-kind”. However, consumers can still get the pickup truck the Traveller is based on, the Ram 2500 HD, at Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
