Quick Look at FCA SEMA Mopar Concepts Before SEMA
Is everyone getting ready for SEMA, the premier automotive specialty products trade event in Vegas? If not, you should be, because it starts tomorrow (November 1) and it only lasts four days. The SEMA Show attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries to discuss and share profit opportunities in the automotive, truck and SUV, and other auto markets.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recently released a sample of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram sketches that preview new model sketches from four of their five brands. Each brand has re-imagined their products with production and concept parts from their well-known custom auto parts partner – you guessed it – Mopar! Mopar has given us the limited-edition ‘16 Mopar Ram 1500 Rebel, they played a hand in designing the new 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A and 2017 Charger Daytona series, and they have an extensive collection of performance parts for Dodge, Chrysler, and Ram vehicles. Now, they’ve released several concepts to blow SEMA competition far, far away.
Easy there, killer. This Mopar-modified Challenger has a sinister look to it, does it not? Dark-grey paint, the famous shaker scoop, and black and red body stripes already make this vehicle look sick with a “q”. Plus, it’s going to be powered by the 392 SRT HEMI, which is a 485-hp 6.4-liter V8 engine. With performance parts from Mopar like a cold air intake and cat back exhaust, oooh who knows what kind of power that engine will have.
Jeep Wrangler “CJ-Sixty Six”
This special Jeep Wrangler has a blacked-out grille and black bonnet with vents to upgrade its looks, and now has even more off-road capability. It’s hard to tell from the concept image, but we’re thinking thick off-road tires coupled with wider wheel arches. No news on the engine, suspension, or other systems at this time.
Who thought a SUV could look this cool, especially in the dark? Well, okay, we don’t know if it glows in the dark, but this concept image leads to the possibility. Maybe it’s just a new electric blue HIP legacy color from the archives. The engine is also under wraps for the Durango, but with a look this sick, not installing the R/T’s 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine would be a crime.
Woah woah, okay, family minivan? How do you make that cool? The answer is brought to you by Mopar, giving it a blue and white beach-inspired color scheme. A surfboard decal is also on the exterior, lending to the spacious cabin of the Pacifica, a total of 140.5 cubic feet. Oh, and one set of wheel spokes has a bright blue outline, which may lend to a blue blur effect as the wheels roll on by.
Ram Power Wagon
We already know the Ram Power Wagon is cool, so what can Mopar possibly do to up the edge? Well, they’re going to slap on some rugged off-road styling and accessories for one, such as off-road tires and tough alloy wheels. Next is a voracious blue and red color scheme that’s bound to turn a few heads. Plus, it has a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine just like the Dodge Challenger.
So, SEMA is already shaping up to be a hoot and a half with these concepts already rolling out the red carpet. Be sure to check it out if you’re in the Vegas area (and can get in), because this is one trade show you don’t want to miss.
