New FCA Campaign Highlights Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Features

It feels a little late to start a new marketing campaign, but that doesn’t seem to stop Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA; Stellantis). Signing a new contract with popular actress “Kathryn Hahn”, FCA loves to use the quirky character Hahn tends to portray in her films (“Bad Moms,” “We’re The Millers”) and their advertisements. The most recent commercial ad was about the quarantine and how having a large vehicle like an SUV or a minivan can help create that social distance some consumers are looking for. As we near 2021, a new age of automobiles is sure to spring up, and the future is looking green. That’s why this new campaign is placing a focus on the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
Usually, we’d add a link, but someone on the FCA marketing team messed up, because the video is set to “private” on YouTube. We can’t even describe it to you – what a shame. Although the video is supposed to appear on television, digital and social media, including Chrysler brand’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels, the ad is currently nowhere to be seen. All we know from the, Hahn is looking as stunning as ever with her new hair color, acting as the Game Show Host of a fictional show, “Why Don’t You Drive a Hybrid?
“The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the only plug-in hybrid minivan on the market, and our “Drive a Hybrid” campaign featuring Kathryn Hahn is a fresh and engaging way to educate people about the benefits of hybrid ownership…With this campaign, we take a direct and light-hearted approach to giving our audiences answers to some of the most asked questions about hybrid ownership, in a way that is unique to the Pacifica Hybrid and to Kathryn’s comedic talents.” – Marissa Hunter, Head of Marketing, FCA – North America
Seriously, though, why not? Don’t you LOVE the Earth? Well, during this 30-second ad spot, Hahn quickly highlights some of the great features of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid while quizzing contestants. Hahn asks the contestants the obvious line, “why don’t you drive a hybrid?” and as each participant presents a stigma about hybrid vehicles, Hahn corrects them with a feature that puts that stigma to rest. Hey, we don’t need to be convinced, we know hybrid vehicles are where the future and the money is at.
Humorously enough, Hahn always wanted to be a game show host, so we can only assume she had fun in this role, though all the other campaign roles for her and FCA were pretty fun as well. We can guess some of the stigmas said, though. Hmm, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, is actually under the guise of a regular hybrid with the name but is actually a plug-in hybrid.
Some consumers may worry about the need to find a charging station to plug-in, but that’s the beauty of a plug-in hybrid. Just like a regular vehicle, consumers can gas it up and avoid charging up altogether. For those that do want to be able to make use of the electric motor and get a sweet all-electric range of more than 30 miles (more than a daily commute), consumers can also charge up the vehicle at home using the everyday 110-volt outlet for regular electrical appliances instead of looking for a charging station. With a full battery and fuel tank, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid also has a total range of more than 500 miles, so consumers don’t need to worry about their minivan suddenly coming to a complete stop after 300 miles like most vehicles.
