Kathyrn Hahn Stars in New Post-Quarantine FCA Media Campaign
Everyone’s favorite actress in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) ad campaigns is back! Yes, Kathryn Hahn returns for another round of humorous advertisements putting all the spotlight on the Chrysler Pacifica. The new social video campaign, called “Pacifica Mom on Quarantine” will star Hahn in several commercials, as per usual, in her goofy mom persona. Last campaign, Hahn took on the form of a new type of mom for every commercial. During this series, Hahn will be using the Chrysler Pacifica as her home away from home (when you can’t go anywhere else) for a pseudo-confessional.
“In a time when social distancing practices have become the new normal, Chrysler brand and Hahn had to take a challenging approach during production of our most recent collaboration…Given our production’s top priority was to ensure the health and safety of all involved during the one-day production, we filmed entirely on an iPhone equipped with a remote feed inside the Chrysler Pacifica, and Kathryn worked on set with a small crew of two and relied on a tablet inside the vehicle to allow for directional feedback.” – Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, FCA
Production may not stop and the protection against the virus may never will. During production of the commercial(s), many safety precautions were put in place and required to be met on set. This included the crew wearing masks and gloves, and disinfecting equipment and vehicles. Only two crew members present on location in Los Angeles with actress Kathryn Hahn, cameras were iPhones equipped with technology for a remote feed, and production took place at a private residence with all of its occupants away during the shoot. When it came to setting the lights and camera, the tech director locked the camera or camera framing and then walked away when Kathryn was on set to maintain a safe distance. Even the video technician manager worked with the Chrysler brand team and its creative agency (Doner) in Detroit via a remote feed to a virtual production studio for direction and feedback and also giving Hahn a chance to see and hear the team after her takes via a tablet, and to ensure Hahn, the agency, and clients approved of the takes.
During this new series, Hahn uses the Pacifica as a pseudo-confessional to share her honest and relatable thoughts on what life has been like during quarantine. There is some humor with her “tell-it-like-it-is” persona and practices a little bit of social distancing throughout the roomy cabin of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan. We could talk more about it, but it’s easier just to watch the first episode of the series below. This new social media campaign, “Pacifica Mom on Quarantine”, will be published on digital and social media, including Chrysler brand’s official YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms.
What a treasure, right? We’re looking forward to what the rest of the episodes will look like.
