Many Stellantis Vehicles Ranked in Top 7 Best Minivan List by U.S. News
Every year, many different automotive publications take stock of all the good reviews, the bad reviews, the test-drives, and hands-on experience to rate some of the best vehicles out there. Sometimes it ends up with a reward, whereas other times it’s to get the automaker’s name and model on a fancy list. The latter is important, because this isn’t a list like your kid’s top 5 cartoons, this is a list from some of the most prestigious organizations arounds. Usually, it’s a Top Ten sort of deal, but U.S. & World News decided to go for just seven when rating the “Best Minivans for 2021”. Wouldn’t you know, multiple models in the Stellantis Family topped the charts?
U.S. News & World Report is a culmination of publications, covering many industries, including Education, Health, Money, Travel, Cars, and Civic. A global leader in digital news and information since 1933, U.S. News rankings come straight from the editors. Credible and trusted by the industry for over 60 years, automakers are aware of the multiple factors that can affect a vehicle’s ranking. The first is an assessment of reviews gathered from major newspapers, magazines, and automotive websites for Performance, Interior, and Critics’ Rating. Then, when it comes to informing consumers in the market, additional information about a vehicle’s safety, reliability, fuel economy, cargo, and towing/hauling capacity data are also taken into account.
With that said, let’s take a look at the rankings. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid ranked #2, followed by the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan in #4, the 2021 Chrysler Voyager ranked #6, and the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan ranked at #7. What a great way to send off the minivan that ruled a nation for several decades. So many good memories…and sometimes bad ones like fingers caught in the door.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid was the first of its kind, a hybrid minivan. With an electricity only range of 33 miles thanks to the large 16 kWh lithium-ion battery powering an electric motor, this minivan can travel up to 566 mikes with a fully charged battery and full tank of gas. A plug-in hybrid, although just called “Hybrid”, the gasoline part of this equation is a 3.6-liter V6 engine. With many of the same features in the Pacifica, except for Stow ‘n Go due to the placement of the battery.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica comes with all the bells and whistles a minivan should come with nowadays. Second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, a third-row Stow ‘n Go 60/40 bench, heated second-row seats, A/C with automatic three-zone temperature control, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and that’s just some of the interior features. One of the first models to come with the next-generation of Uconnect 5 on a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, the Pacifica offers a large assortment of tech to entertain everyone in the cabin.
The 2021 Chrysler Voyager is like a toned-down version of the Pacifica. Made for families with elderly or handicapped members, the Voyager comes with BraunAbility rear- and side-entry conversions, a wider entryway, and an enhanced ramp securement system. For some leisure, an automatic climate control system with three zones is standard, along with a third row Stow ‘n Go 60/40 bench seat for moving seats around quick and easy. The Voyager is equipped with Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch touchscreen a six-speaker system, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, and Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Going out with a bang, the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan has been discontinued after many years of service. In its final year, Dodge did bring this vehicle up to speed with Stow ‘n Go second and third-row bench seating, triple-zone manual temperature control, sunscreen glass, second-row Super Stow ‘n Go bucket seats, and a power eight-way driver seat. The standard tech is a six-speaker sound system, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, and steering wheel-mounted controls, but available through the lineup is a second row overhead 90-inch VGA video screen, a second-row overhead DVD console, or single DVD entertainment center, and wireless headphones. Bluetooth streaming audio and Uconnect voice command with Bluetooth are available with the SE and SXT trims.
