2020 has been a shaky year for the automotive industry – every industry, really. No one wants to be a Debbie Downer and talk about the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s still out there. Although the economy took a hit, little by little, businesses are starting to come back, and the automotive industry is lighting up like the 4th of July with automotive journalists not skipping a beat and groups like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) releasing new vehicles and cool technology, like the Ram Rebel TRX with the Know & Go App. Many vehicles are also coming out with upgrades and special editions, most currently Jeep®. In fact, the off-road wonder recently released the new Latitude LUX model for the award-winning Jeep Cherokee SUV.

“The new 2021 Cherokee Latitude LUX truly enhances the Jeep lineup and is a direct reflection of what our customers want and value the most in their vehicle – everyday practicality, exceptional comfort, with outstanding ride and handling characteristics…As the most capable midsize sport-utility vehicle, the Jeep Cherokee continues to offer consumers the ultimate blend of all-weather 4×4 capability and even more standard amenities at an incredible value.” – Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA North America

The Jeep Cherokee is a flagship model of the Jeep lineup, and Jeep is a flagship brand of FCA, and this model gets a little better with the new LUX trim. With only four models in the lineup – Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, and Trailhawk – another trim for the Jeep Cherokee comes with a warm welcome. Available on either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, consumers can get the new Cherokee Latitude LUX on a 4×2 for $30,145 (plus destination fee) or commit to the off-road life with a 4×4 with a starting MSRP of $31,645 (plus destination fee). This baby is available right now!

What does the new Cherokee Latitude LUX come with? What makes it so special? Glad you asked. The Jeep Cherokee Latitude LUX breaks the notorious Jeep pattern of keeping luxury locked up for high rollers. The LUX comes with Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, and the latest Uconnect system. Could it be the Uconnect 5? That’s a total upgrade if so.

Safety is also getting a plus for the LUX model. Standard safety features include Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking; premium LED lighting, including headlamps, taillamps and fog lamps; Blind-spot Monitoring; Rear Cross Path detection; LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist; ParkView rear backup camera and park assist with dynamic grid lines; a windshield wiper deicer; and rain-sensing wipers. Powered by a 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine with engine stop-start technology, consumers get 29 miles to the gallon on the highway and still have the best-in-class towing capability (up to 4,500 pounds). If looking for a boost, the 2.0-liter I-4 turbocharged engine is also an option.

Speaking of options, the Jeep Cherokee LUX comes with many optional add-ons and packages for Jeepers who want to really want to shine. The Comfort and Convenience Group is available, able to add on a security alarm, power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, air conditioning with dual-zone automatic temperature control, universal garage door opener, 115-volt power outlet, 8.4-inch touchscreen radio, and 7-inch full-color thin-film transistor display.  For getting some fresh air, the Sun and Sound Group includes a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and premium Alpine nine-speaker sound system with subwoofer. Then, there’s the Trailer Tow Group for those who still plan to do some heavy lifting, upgrading with heavy-duty engine cooling, transmission auxiliary oil cooler, a Class III hitch receiver, four- and seven-pin trailer-tow wiring harness, and full-size spare tire (4×4 models only).
