Dodge Releases Octane Edition for 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Dodge surprised us all when they released the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The most powerful vehicle in the lineup, following the limited run of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the SRT Hellcat Redeye is solely a Dodge Challenger trim, kept apart from its four-door sibling, the Charger. Usually, the Challenger and the Charger share trims, like the SRT Hellcat, but the Demon and Redeye don’t share the same feelings. Even with talk and information leaks about the Dodge Charger Widebody, there’s still no word on how the automaker will send off the four-door muscle car before Dodge produces its first electric vehicle. Maybe just one more special edition? They’re calling it the “Hellcat Octane Edition”.
“In the world of muscle cars, limited editions are valued by enthusiasts for their uniqueness and collectability, both today and in the future…The 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Octane Edition is the newest factory-custom model designed for our performance customers who want to stand apart from the pack.” – Tom Sacoman, Director of Product, Passenger Car Brands, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and FIAT – FCA US LLC.
This limited-edition appearance package is exclusive to the 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, and although offered in two body paints – Pitch Black or White Knuckle – the Octane Edition is said to have a “blacked-out” theme. Personally, we think it looks cool with White Knuckle to contrast the black graphics and accents. Just check out the picture above.
Inside and out, the appearance package includes a full-length Satin Black center stripe with an Octane Red outline, with complete blacked-out exterior components, including the grille, a Sating Black decklid and rear spoiler, and fender badges. The Octane Edition comes with a set of 20-inch aluminum-forged Cross Brace wheels, also painted in Low-gloss Black, that can also be found on the drag-race-ready 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 package. These wheels include knurled bead seats to minimize tire slip on the wheels during high speeds. Like all Hellcat trims, a Brembo brake package makes up the braking system for the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Octane Edition, a six-piston front calipers/four-piston rear combination, also with a unique Octane red paint color.
The theme of the appearance package continues inside the cabin of the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Consumers can find exclusive content that’s otherwise not available, such as SRT Performance seats with a Houndstooth insert for more supportive and comfortable seats, a first for the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat with the Octane Edition. An SRT Hellcat logo is also stitched into the seatback with red accent stitching. Red seatbelts are also included, usually an extra add-on option for $195, and a black-on-black SRT Hellcat badge on the instrument panel that goes well with the rest of the Dark Brushed instrument panel and console bezels. Gloss-black accents and red stitching can be found throughout the interior cabin.
Curious about the price? We have you covered. The 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Octane Edition is a turnkey appearance package that adds a price of $1495 onto the already starting MSRP of $67,245 (plus destination fee) for the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat trim. “Limited” really means limited with this edition, only available through dealerships starting now through the end of the model year (2019).
