Dodge Is About to Reveal 8950 Horsepower in its 2021 Lineup
Sometimes, a person or entity will do something so outrageous, you find yourself asking, “Why?” On July 2, 2020, muscle car automaker Dodge revealed its 2021 vehicle lineup, specifically the new 2021 muscle car lineup at Dodge.com on July 2, 2020, at noon ET. To mark the occasion, Dodge orchestrated a version of the “The Star-Spangled Banner” with sounds of its iconic supercharged HEMI® engines in the spirit of the fourth of July weekend. There will be plenty of fireworks, and Dodge is sure to cause a few explosive sights, stating that 8,950 horsepower is about to join the Brotherhood.
Surely Dodge isn’t talking about a vehicle with 8,950 horsepower. If so, then how? Why?! What possible reason could an automobile manufacturer have to make such a thing? On top of that, it’s not even enough horsepower to break the sound barrier, it’s just 1,050 horsepower short, but still, go big or go home, amirite?
At the moment, the current lineup of all HEMI and V8 engines combined barely breaks 4,000 horsepower combined, so we’re honestly curious what Dodge has waiting for us this week. Taking its obsession with American muscle and unmatched performance to new heights, Dodge already launched the 30-second teaser (seen above) on its website, and starting July 1st (that’s today), three additional teaser videos will be published on Dodge’s various social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Just before the reveal, a final reminder teaser will launch across all Dodge social channels on July 2, in the morning.
Following the reveal, there will be a new full-length video that showcasing the lineup and performance specs of each vehicle. Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America, added an extra teaser to fans. Apparently, the vehicle above gives us a taste of the reveal.

Wait…”If You Know, You Know”? No…no, no, no. That was the slogan for the 2018 Dodge Challenge SRT Demon, a one-off vehicle that was able to generate up to 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque, accelerate 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds, and race through a quarter-mile in just 9.65 seconds with a max speed of 140.09 mph. Sure it sounds good popping a wheelie for 2.92 feet – a Guinness World Record – but it was impractical, and Dodge knew this. For 2019 and again in 2020, Dodge introduced the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, the SRT Demon we deserve and practically the SRT Demon in disguise. More practical, and more successful, Dodge is also releasing the SRT Hellcat Redeye engine on the Dodge Charger. Can you guess for which model year it will be released on?
