When Dodge first released the new generation of the Dodge Charger, there may have been a little confusion. The PR by Stellantis Media didn’t highlight just the new multi-powertrain Charger or the new Charger Daytona SRT battery-electric vehicle (BEV). Now that the initial dust has settled, it’s clear that two different versions of the Charger have been released with the new generation, and Dodge has officially embraced eMuscle as the future of muscle cars with the Dodge Charger BEV, starting with two trims – the Scat Pack and R/T. To crown this achievement, the Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack was named Green Car Journal’s 2025 Performance Green Car of the Year.

The Green Car Journal is a well-known name in the industry and trusted to give credit to electrified and all-electric vehicles, and highlight their success. Highlighting vehicles that perform well environmentally while still having plenty of style and versatility, the Charger Daytona SRT BEV was bound to show up on the list. The standard Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack clocks in at 670-horspower and 627 lb-ft of torque, able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds. Even more powerful is the Charger Daytona R/T model, able to generate 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. Powered by a 400-volt dual motor system, Dodge even created the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system (patent pending).

“The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona is a game changer not just because it’s an electric vehicle, but because it’s a better muscle car…For the Dodge brand, electrification is simply a means to drive performance for our enthusiasts. The new Charger Daytona delivers more horsepower than the outgoing models, wrapped in iconic exterior and interior design, and with a sound that is unlike anything you’ve ever heard from a battery-electric vehicle. The all-new Dodge Charger represents the Dodge brand’s muscle car of the future and the brand’s first multi-energy muscle car lineup, with electric and gasoline options for customers.” – Matt McAlear, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis

The starting MSRP might seem a little heavy, currently looking at $61,590 (plus destination fee) for the Daytona R/T trim level, but there is some good news. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack and Charger Daytona R/T also qualify for a full $7,500 federal tax credit, and that just doesn’t apply to buying a new model. This also goes for consumers who decide to lease the car as well. To help consumers get into the spirit of stopping to charge up, the all-new Charger Daytona is also eligible for the Free2move Charge solutions. Consumers can get an at-home Level 2 charging station (conditions apply) or $600 charge credits to offset the price of charging stations. Able to recharge from 20 percent to 80 percent charge status in less than 30 minutes when using a Level 3 DC CCS fast charger, consumers can grab a cup of coffee and get going by the time it’s cooled.

Production for the all-electric four-door Daytona Scat Pack and R/T models will start early in 2025. Consumers should be able to expect orders being fulfilled and delivered by the summer.
