Stellantis and Free2Move Charge Offers BEV Consumers Two Packages for Charging Up
We get it – battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) are a scary idea. Even with the joint venture IONNA building a nationwide BEV charging network, there still won’t be enough charging stations to handle all the BEVs that will be out in the market and on the road by 2030. Becoming stranded or having to hunt down a charging station with an app isn’t as easy as taking a highway exit to the nearest gas station. Stellantis knows this, and that’s why they want to offer an easier way to charge up a BEV or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) for homeowners. The automotive group just launched its Free2move Charge website and Free2move Charge app with a Home and Go package to offer new BEV consumers one of two choices – a new Free2move Charge Home charging station or charging credits.

Who doesn’t like free stuff? Who doesn’t like rewards for spending a sum of cash? The Free2move Charge movement has been going on for a few years now, but it hasn’t done anything like this. With a new website, consumers can get some information on BEVS before, through and after the buying process with educational materials that can help them better understand BEVs and the charging options available to them as new BEV owners. The app itself is already available for download via Apple and Google app stores. Now, onto the rewards.
The Free2move Charge – Go Package is something some consumers may already be familiar with. This comes in the form of $600 in charging credits with the purchase of a BEV from a Stellantis brand. In 2023, Free2move launched its Charge Home, Charge Business, and Charge GO business plans to offer consumers everywhere and anywhere three ways to stay charged with a home installation; a business platform aimed at changing city infrastructure to install, maintain, and provide public charging access; and guaranteed access to the largest possible curated network of public charging points across North America. With the Go Package, consumers can make use of the latter and find the closest EV charging locations to them, their charging history, and the balance of their remaining credits when charging up their BEV via the Free2move Charge ecosystem electric-vehicle charging stations. Consumers can also find more Free2move charging stations on-the-go when they download the Free2move Charge app via Apple and Google app stores.
If consumers choose the Free2move Charge – Home Package with the purchase of a Stellantis BEV, they will get a Level 2 charging unit (valued at approximately $600) installed into their home garage. Of course, this one would only work for homeowners with a garage, or an apartment building with a designated parking space and a garage if your homeowner association allows that sort of thing. Safely installed in three simple steps, consumers just need to go onto the Free2move Charge website, answer some questions about the home or location for where the charging stations will be installed, and upload photos for a commitment-free estimate from Qmerit.com to offer them a free estimate on the cost of installation of the Level 2 charging unit. Then, consumers just need to schedule an appointment, and the preferred installer will take care of the necessary permits and have owners connected and ready to charge.
